Losing 1-0 to Derby County on my 21st Birthday was a bummer, and when you consider 10 years to the day before we had beaten Barcelona 3-2 at SJP!
Worst for me though was the 1-0 defeat at home to Blackburn in a game we dominated, I had been saying all week 'this is the one we're gonna win, im so convinced' then, well, we know the rest!!

Im going to the game but I live 1 and a half miles from st andrews so its not much of a travel for me. I think what you fail to realise stozo is all the factors contributing to this game mean that people just cant or wont go. 300 miles or so, £35 and on a monday night at 8pm!? I wouldnt be grudge any one for not wanting to do that!
Also I think there just comes a time where everyone gets fed up and lets be honest this season everyones loyalty and support has been pushed!!

I think if Shearer was going to come into the club as manager this would be the best way to do it for him, If he doesnt want to manage a lower league team (though i dont know where that statement has came from, As Alan himself said his dream was to manage one day and not necessarily Newcastle) then having him as Kevin Keegans number two for a couple of years could be the only way in for him at Newcastle.
After Keegans momentum runs out hand over the reigns to Shearer and let him have a stab at the job.

well he's 30 still got a couple of years ahead of him, didnt he play 7 games in his first 3 seasons for Villa? Was something like that anyway. Great defender and would be quality for us. Just cannot see it happening.

Holland were fantastic tonite and I loved their attacking mentality even after their 2 goal cussion! So glad we actually witnessed a good game tonite after the drab France gave us.
