Vidic was always a little weak with 1v1, got beat a lot because he wasn't agile enough. The ultimate conclusion is there just aren't that many top level centerbacks right now, might not even be more than one. Vidic was pretty instrumental to a side that reached the CL final in 2011 was he not? I think he's declined since then, and isn't even a top defender in this league anymore, but that season he was excellent.

I'm talking about 2011/12, the year City won. Nobody in the world was better than Kompany that year. I'm not agreeing here. For me, he's never been the best, Vidic, Pique and Thiago Silva wee all better than him the year before, year after that I think Pique and Thiago were once again better. Pique has really declined but his style was excellent to work under Pep.

2010/11 and 2011/12 he was immense. Yeah but he's never been the best in the world, or the PL. Who was better those years? There's a case for Vidic in 2010/11, but Kompany dominated when City won the league. Don't think there was anyone better than him in the world that year. Thiago Silva has been the best in the world every and each of those years man. Ask Milan fans and Zlatan who they rated as Milan's most important player that 2010/2011 season. (the last Serie A title for Milan)

Yeah really weird. I guess one is the right number. Although I never look at statistics to determine who's the better striker. Of those we've discussed I'd have 1. Dzeko 2. Giroud 3. Ba without a doubt. Like I said I like Giroud a lot, but in MY opinion Dzeko edges him because he does more.

Also like my initial point isn't that they'll love playing in Manaus, it's about them being able to handle it much better than those who have never experienced that kind of heat. Just to make it clear.
