The club needs to rethink the strategy, they’re obviously targeting premier league proven going by the reported targets such as Joao Pedro, Elanga, Mbeumo, Guehi.
Offering 45m for Elanga when Forest value him at £60m plus and don’t need to sell to make it happen you have to overpay (I’m not saying he’s worth overpaying for but as an example).
If we’re unwilling or unable to overpay then why are we wasting time?
Appreciate with Joao Pedro the player wants Chelsea and us paying the fee Brighton want is irrelevant but the point stands in general. Need to take some risks in the European market as we’ve done in the past.

Meh, I convinced myself he'd be good for us, but in all honesty he doesn't look like a £60m player to me. I know the market is crazy, but surely there is better value to be had elsewhere
There is but you have to be brave and some may turn out to be duds. We were with the likes of Bruno, Botman, Gordon, Hall, and Tino. They were either good players in foreign leagues but no prem experience or upcoming English players on big fees. Seem to be targeting prem proven and getting blown out of the water by the Cartel clubs.

By what date do we start worrying if we haven’t signed a player?
Technically we’ve signed two, Cordero (1st July) and Vakhtang Salia (Joins end of August).

I would take that as him saying it’s done, don’t get stressed?

I think Harvey elliot was there last time.
Which I think is why he did the gesture which looked like flicking the V but wasn’t.

Back to back Champions!

Every time I hear Quansahs name mentioned I think of this episode of Futurama (sorry if off topic)

French clubs being smart (same as German clubs) signing upcoming English players to flog back to us a couple of seasons later at inflated fees.

Desperate stuff from England there.

Should have buried that.

Germans look more energetic at this stage.

Going to be one of the only nations to win the Euros a couple times in a row and still fail at the main tournament like, usually wins like this are a prelude to the main team winning a Euros or World Cup but feels like we're further away than ever
There’s a disconnect between the U21 and full team. Usually there a style of play running through the various levels. When you get to the full team it’s completely different. Also how many from this team will transition to the full team under Tuchel. I doubt many as his aim is the World Cup.

That would have been an awesome goal.

Always had good feet Anderson, helped out there in a tight spot.

Shame Carsley couldn’t cope with the press attention (can’t blame him to be honest). Think he’d have done well longer term with England.
Could have gone for a Klinsmann and that other bloke approach. Carly can be the technical guy with a Co manager who’s the public face.

He’s also a left winger.

Hutchinson, nice goal.
-
The guy who put that free kick in for Germany had black boots, I was shocked.

Hutchinson should have passed to Elioyt he was free on the edge of the box.

I’m all for financial controls but PSR is a rigged system to keep the status quo. Bring in a maximum squad cost (transfers, salaries, bonuses and agent fees) that can be spent by all clubs not this system where the historically wealthy/succesful get to spent unlimited sums compared to the rest.
To safeguard clubs against unscrupulous owners make it a rule that only a certain percentage can be debt finance and a plan is submitted six monthly to the league to show how these debts will be repaid. If you want to go above the debt cap then you can spend owners money but this can’t be a loan against the club.
