Can we calm the fuck down now
-
In terms of we can spend which we can we just can’t be reckless with it
-
Well it would have been pointless as he said early on he wanted Man Utd
-
you just aren’t getting that we can spend but we can’t be reckless with it. imagine you have £150 to spend and really don’t want to go in to your over draft coz you’ll have fees to pay. You need to buy food, clothes and petrol. You spend £70 on food £70 on clothes that leaves you short on the petrol. Now translate that in to £millions, a centre half, a winger and a keeper. We are being careful so we don’t end up having to dip in to the overdraft and getting penalised for it can’t explain it more simple than that
-
Our main targets are keeper, winger & centre half all for the first team. I’m not convinced any of those players Sunderland signed were better than anything we’ve already got or will sign
-
No, I’m just applying common sense and the same message they’ve been sending out all year. Maybe you should pay more attention and moan less. Howe has repeatedly said they don’t want to ever be in a position where they are forced to sell the likes of Anderson im confident we’ll get done the business we need to do and you’ll just be moaning the whole time coz Sunderland have bought 3 players no one has heard of
-
So are you suggesting the players we are going for aren’t Howe’s targets?
-
Thats one for Eddie Howe not me
-
No one is blaming it on PSR issues there is money to spend but it has to be spend carefully and wisely. Also you are ignoring yet again bids for Delep & Pedro who decided to go elsewhere. we’ll sign 4 or 5 players. The players we want within the budget we have. Calm down
-
We couldn’t spend over the last 18 months. We even had to sell and it’s that very mess they are trying to avoid by being careful. it really shouldn’t be that hard to understand. They’ve came out and told us often enough.
-
that’s fair but it’s his targets we are trying to get. His targets that choose Man Utd & Chelsea and his targets that are seemingly too costly for us.
-
No, but it’s also not the clubs fault Pedro, Mbeumo & Delap chose another club and it’s also not the clubs fault (if true) Burnley & Forest both changing the deal when almost agreed
-
Copy and paste Man City & Chelsea not only had to do early business because of CWC they also have a much bigger PSR headroom because well, they are Man City. Chelsea have sold off their womens side, their hotels and a couple of car parks - an income stream we don’t have. Arsenal have signed Zubamendi a deal that was pretty much done in Jan & Norgaard on the cheap. Chelsea btw signed two players we bid for and they chose Chelsea had they not there’s a fair chance we’d have signed them. Liverpool have far bigger revenue streams and like us haven’t signed anyone for 3 windows giving them plenty and far more than us to spend Man Utd have signed Cunha but they’ve also spent the last 2 weeks haggling with Brentford over £3m Spurs basically made the Tel signing permanent. Villa have signed no one yet Sunderland & Burnley have spent but in a completely different market to us all players under £35m and none of them would get in our side. yes we’ve not signed anyone yet but we are hardly miles behind
-
Every transfer is done by negotiating. If they can some how save £5m on Elanga to put elsewhere then why wouldn’t they? Also once again you are ignoring the recent stories that the deal was pretty much done before Forest decided they should have a sell on % should we just accept that negotiations on transfers have been for decades but of course your way is the way to go btw if we had done what you suggested bid and move on we probably wouldn’t have signed Isak? Brilliant

And I’ve tried to explain Man City & Chelsea not only had to do early business because of CWC they also have a much bigger PSR headroom because well, they are Man City. I predict we’ll get Elanga and Trafford in by then. They’ll get done it’s just about getting the right deal
-
Nah you don’t get it do you. Just because we have money doesn’t mean you just throw a load at the one player. They know we need 4 or 5 players they need to manage that money the best they can. It’s called budgeting and not a football phenomenon. They could throw £60m at Elanga £40m at Trafford but that then leaves us short for a forward & defender so then what do you suggest ? you also completely ignore the reports of teams Like Forest and Burnley apparently changing the goal posts should we should agree to any old shit just to get a signing done?
-
I’m gonna say it one last time because you haven’t been paying attention. The club got themselves in to PSR trouble and they are being careful that it doesn’t happen again. Forget our rivals they have no relevance to what we can and can’t spend.
-
We could yeah but we need 4 or 5. Which means the money has to spread across those 4 or 5. do you think we sold Anderson and Minteh for a laugh ? Or did we actually do what you are suggesting and overshot the budget which this time around are carefully managing so we don’t end up in that position you keep saying “our rivals” our rivals that sold hotels and women’s teams so they can afford to
-
We have a budget to spread across 5 or 6 players which means bidding and basically haggling for the best deal to therefor allocate money elsewhere. We could easily whack down £60m for Elanga which would leave us short elsewhere. It’s a game of patience. Also why does it always have to be on us? Stories have came out Forest changed the goal posts and wanted a sell on clause added in and also reports that Burnley have also moved the goal posts on the Trafford deal lets also not forget we bid on Delep, Mbeumo & Pedro and they all chose to go elsewhere
-
Do you seriously not get it ? Genuine question
-
Again it’s a different market of player. We could easily have bought 3 or 4 £20m players so please you but they wouldn’t improve us. We are shopping in a higher market which costs more which has more impact on our PSR. I’m not quite sure what you don’t understand about that
