This German team have been England-esque so far.  Nervy, can't keep possession, big stars not performing, shaky defending.

I have seen enough, it is no longer a knee jerk.  Gomez is shit, and I don't him.

Are people just talking about him or has NUFC made a move for him?

So far there has been nothing but rumours from Turkish language fan sites.  If he signs, it is purely the work of this thread and I say we start one about Kaka ASAP.

There's a perverse, self-destructive part of me that wants to see him sign for Spurs now.  Just to see how incredible this thread could become.

Others perceptions of our current squad is irrelevant. It is very easy for Keegan to help our negotiations by declaring that we won't be unhappy if we don't sign anyone.

The perception of our squad by teams we intend to buy from is entirely relevant, as I think you just admitted.  I don't think Galatasary are going to be coerced into selling Arda Turan for less money if Keegan comes out and says that we'd be happy going into next season with Butt, Geremi & Milner or that our current squad is just fine as it is.  It clearly isn't.  Nor are they that desperate to offload Arda. 

I'm confident the board & management realize that fact, but a little reassurance might be welcome given the failings of previous regimes and the dire state of our current squad.

If you offered him to us on a free or - better yet - in a swap for Alan Smith - I would still say no.  He is a mercenary c*** and everything that is wrong with football.  I can tolerate a lot....Bowyer, Barton.....but I draw the line at Chimbonda.  I don't want him anywhere near this club.

Pascal Chimbonda is not the answer to any problem or any question.  He is a greedy semi-talented attacking fullback who can address none of the many problems this squad has.  Just another grubby hand in the greasy till. 

If this team pays over the odds for an average player from our rivals to replace the one genuinely talented defender in the squad then....f*** me.  Why bother?  Let's pay 15 mil for Zokora, 25 mil for Dawson and 30 mil for Robinson.  Complete the transformation into a feeder club for fucking Spurs.  Would be a stupid, criminal waste of money.
