Not to worry, if these Ligue 1 players we have and havent signed yet are anywhere near as good in the Premiership as they are in this forums imagination then we'll be fine.

This is the ground for the friendly against KC next month? Looks nice.

I think that, as with us, it hinged on money available for new players. Shearer doesn't want to make the sacrifices that go with management unless he has a good chance of success.
Could be said of any manager really.

Loved the s*** out of Scott Parker when he was up here. Gutted to see him leave, I'd have him in the England team regularly. I think the problem with Capello is that, for the first time in his life, he's met a challenge that, for whatever reason, he can't seem to crack, so he tries to copy other blueprints, like putting in young players a la Germany, or fanciful new formations based on another team's success, instead of studying the players he has available to him and formulating the best combination of players to fit the most effective system in consideration of those available resources. However, it's now way too late to think in this way and the clock is winding down on his tenure - the players aren't bothered about him, he's not bothered about them or us, or the job, and the whole situation seems to be riddled with apathy and indifference.
Also, we aren't anywhere near as good as we think we are.
Has Capello really done a bad job?
England qualified easily for the last World Cup and lost in the knock out stage to a much better team. They look like qualifying for the next tournament (in all likelihood) where they will probably lose to a better team. Unless they get a lucky draw and fluke it.
They have better than average players and get better than average results. His biggest failing seems to be managing a bunch of genuinely unappealing human beings like John Terry, Wayne Rooney and Ashley Cole.

Newcastle United - Zamalek star midfielder on Magpies radar
GiveMeFootball.com - Will Haine - 6 minutes ago
The 25-year-old has six months left to run on his current deal at the Cairo International Stadium, but has allegedly alerted Newcastle by stating his desire to move to the Barclays Premier League. Newcastle are known to be keen to bolster their ...

The next time im out of a job, im going to start a social media and web PR consultancy specifically targeting football agents and reps. They pay me, I start enough rumors on Twitter and amateur tribalfootball sites and guarantee xx number of twitter mentions, so they can prove to their thick as shit left back from Millwall that the big move is on its way etc. Bonus if it bleeds into mainstream press.

Bought a ticket to Kansas City, because tickets in the south end for the Columbus game seem sold out. No idea how I'm getting there, where I'm staying or, quite honestly, how far away it is from here.
Why pick friendlies in the most desolate places in the country?

Like Barton and Young is going to make that much of a difference.

2-2 is a fair result really.
And it was entertaining I thought. No good blaming Capello. England just aren't that good.

What is the point of Darren Bent

Blatter recommends Henry Kissinger to lead his anti corruption efforts.

I genuinely want England to withdraw from 2014 now. I think if one nation does, more will follow. Then the sponsors will pull out and the whole thing will come crashing down. And if it doesn't at least we won't have to watch England under achieve, again.
2014 Brazil could be fun. The next two will be shit, withdraw from them.

In an interview with a German press agency, Grondona called England "pirates" and added: "With the English [2018 World Cup] bid I said: Let us be brief. If you give back the Falkland Islands, which belong to us, you will get my vote. They then became sad and left."
He didn't want much for his vote did he
Just wiki'd him. Seems like a real winner.
Football is run by caricatures of Bond villans.

Corruption and lies, sure. The power only stems from adidas, Nike, Coca Cola and other corporate event sponsors. Cut them off and they go away. They don't have a line of income that doesn't stem from tournament sponsorship, video games etc. And that comes from the voluntary participation of players and nations they don't own.
Just don't go to Qatar. Decline to participate. Shoe companies and fizzy pop manufacturers aren't going to pay Sepp & Wagner if Brazil, Argentina, Germany, France. England etc. opt out.

I find it hard to support Barca. They just seem like show offs.

Finish top half, above sunderland, that was his goal. He didnt meet it.
The very best you can say about Pardew is that he is a disappointment, not a disaster.
Maybe a bit harsh. The performance against west brom improved, sort of.

Gone backwards and failed in his two objectives for the second half of the season.
By any fair standard a disappointment.

Probably Columbus.

Everyone knows exactly what Stoke are about, especially at home. So what exactly was Wenger's plan here? Wilshere, Walcott, Arshavin....all dwarves with no strength. He doesn't have a plan B for those boring weekend when you have to go to Stoke or Wolves and grind something out.
-
Bad goalkeeeping.

It's an absolute travesty when a team like Stoke are ahead against a team like Arsenal, from a purely footballing point of view.
From a purely footballing point of view, Arsenal aren't very good at defending.

Haha....I swear it went into slow motion after Barton played that pass.
