    Leon Best

I think he was brought in to see if he could step up to make the grade and has had a few poor games but answered his critics too and stepped up to the plate ,dont rate him highly at all but if he keeps Lovenpants out the team all well and good .
  2. The saying goes no easy games in football at that level

He will get used as an excuse by Pardew for saving a few quid till January after the Fulham game, score regular son and the shit will stay off the clowns not that i defend them but its my take on things.
  4. Really excited about this lad watched a few clips and looks good on the ball ,2 good feet and puts it about a bit and hopefully we can build him up and the fans will love him get behind him and jose will quickly be forgotten about even though i wish he was still here .
  5. Nail on head ,i cannot afford to go anymore but next season going halves with a mate (7 years since last season ticket) and watch it in a pub/club there is a lot of passion from working class people who i have no doubt including myself want to stand .

I originally posted after Leon Best scored the 2 against Fulham that we wouldnt buy a striker as it was a get out clause for the clowns aned yes they havent actually used it as an excuse i believe Pardew will .

    Bryan Ruiz

How bizarre. Macdonald was on the Legends tonight and said he spoke to a guy in the Fulham heirachy who said Newcastle never had any contact with Ruiz or his agent and club

Read through your quote and tbh you blame Carr and cannot wriggle out of that one ,Carr identifies and leaves it to the clowns to get them .

He put his reputation on the line with recent comments about being certain he'll have a striker before the window closes, it'll be very interesting to hear what he has to say, no one is denying he has no control of things but if you don't have control you shouldn't be stupid enough to put out statements like that, especially when those that do have power are who they are. We already know one of the main reasons he came in was to tell us everything the board wanted us to hear. He is a puppet, he is so please to just be in a job he will say whatever he is told. What point are you trying to make ? We know he's not in control, no one is saying that we believe he is, what I'm saying is I still would be interested in hearing what he has to say, it's odd for a manager not to comment on post transfer window business. Gagging order

Fair weather fan Where is the fair weather? Got out nice around 5.30 in Newcastle ,figure of speech meaning only come out when the weather is nice if thats what your getting at Nah, I understand the phrase. I mean, regarding NUFC....when has the weather ever been fair. It's been thunderstorms and tornadoes as long as I've been aware. Can't possibly be such a thing as a fair weather fan. I know some and cannot stomach it tbh as they only go when we have a good run and thats few and far between .
  12. Has the transfer window been extended just for us? How kind of FIFA! I understand the frustration that we can't get one more striker. But that's debatable because we could be better off playing a 4-5-1 formation instead of 4-4-2. Nearly every football fans other than NUFC thought we have a marvelous transfer window by being able to dispose old players like Nolan and Barton while getting players like Cabaye and Santon on a ridiculous low price. The only downside they said is we sold Enrique for too little money. Believe it or don't. Broken promise of a new forward hence the anger tbh

Fair weather fan Not really, I was at City when they humped us 3-0, Souness's last game in charge. I was at Wigan for the pitiful 1-0 losses. I was there in the Championship, I've seen us humped at Anfield and have supported the club unwaveringly through the Gullit, Roeder, Kinnear and Alardyce periods. Only because Im under 30 do I not remember the dark age pre Keegan, although I do remember us in Division 2. I can deal with us not doing the business on the pitch, it's the way that the FCB has made the club rotten at the core that makes my blood boil. Wasnt personal ,yeah no where your coming from as i can go back to Mcgarry,Nulty,Lee etc its bloody hard but dont lose the faith as we will be around when they are gone and we will rise again .

I think Carr fulfils this role only not in name. Pardew will have some imput but I imagine it would be minimal. I don't think Carr does that job. He's a scout whose job is to put together a list of possible signings, Pardew would then discuss them with Carr, maybe have a look at the ones he doesn't know and then put names forward to Llambias in order of preference. Imo it is at this stage that the real problem lies. I don't think DL is competent or experienced enough to do this job properly. he's obviously ok at bringing in free transfers, activating release clauses and acquiring players generally discarded by their club, basically anything easy. looks like negotiations aren't his strong point though. for an ambitious owner, the above might be a problem worth fixing. Totally agree. Replacing Llambias with someone who knows what he's doing would cure most of the sh*t that goes on at the club imo. He is too pally with Ashley so that wont happen and a cosy set up with the odd press release ,pretty surprised they know how to sign a player in all honesty .
  17. I think this is the latest of Ashley's mistakes. Surely no one believes that you can actually make money from the Premiership any more? All the recent purchases have been about raising profiles abroad and merchandising. The only people who are going to be interested in purchasing a profitable club are going to be those who can acquire a sizeable loan and can carry out a leveraged buyout, probably worse for the club in the long run than having Ashley owning the club. If he wants to sell the club then raising our profile abroad is the easiest route to take, but it would probably require that Ashley actually spend some money. If your looking to maximise your merchandising its the Far East where the money is imho not in France .

Cannot have any sympathy for the man at all as its been a pack of bullshit from day one,He is probably well rewarded for standing and taking the flak in a job we can all just dream about ,yes he has done reasonably ok in his limited cash handouts but its the lies that piss me off unless the arseholes are spinning him along but i have a gut feeling he is in on it aswell and we are the mugs but as the song goes "wont get fooled again"

We did get a single striker in, the problem was we didn't get two. We didnt get the "guarantee you 100% we will have a new striker by 1st Sept" signing in thats why everyone is angry .
  20. Bordering on Censorship and Britains right to free speech ,Fuckin hate Ashley and all he stands for .
  21. Apologies if its already been posted but this is Luke Edwards article in todays Telegraph and couldnt agree more but just wish he was a bit more verbal when he was up here . By Luke Edwards Sport Last updated: September 1st, 2011 3 Comments Comment on this article Newcastle United asked to be judged on September 1st when their transfer business had been concluded and they have been. I find them guilty of time-wasting, penny pinching and negligence. That’s not to say their business has been disastrous. In fact, in certain areas it has been rather good, but mistakes has been made and, perhaps worse still, there has been a startling lack of ambition shown given the position of strength they were in when the window opened. With £35m from the sale of Andy Carroll supposedly sitting in a separate bank account waiting to be used, Newcastle United have only re-invested a smidgeon of that back into the team. After finishing a creditable 12th in their first season back in the top flight and with the core of a competitive squad in place, they have stood still, not gone forward. The squad has changed, but it is highly debatable it is stronger than it was in May. That, ultimately, means it has been a disappointing window. With money to re-invest and money brought in through player sales, Newcastle’s net spend on transfer fees is around £2m. Nobody expected that sum to be so small. Other money has been committed, wages, agent and signing on fees all add up, but with big earners like Joey Barton, Sol Campbell, Jose Enrique and Kevin Nolan leaving, it is hard to see how the wage bill has risen. Managing Director Derek Llambias’s overwhelming mission this summer has been value for money, it is his mantra, it is how he does business and there is something to be said for that approach in a market that is always capable of losing touch with reality. But in the quest for a bargain, the perfect transfer where Newcastle would not be forced to pay a pound more than the valuation they had put on a player, Newcastle lost sight of what was so badly needed, even though manager Alan Pardew rarely let up in his highlighting of the issue. When you really need something, or you really want to improve something, you often have to pay more than you would like for it. If the demand is great, the price is high. Pardew demanded a striker to replace Carroll, Newcastle failed to supply it. If you are trying to buy a house and other people are interested, it is the seller who benefits because one will have to pay more than the other to get it. Newcastle refused to do that. They were stubborn and, having driven hard bargains for the likes of Hatem Ben Arfa and Yohan Cabaye, they seem to believe they can do the same every time. They cannot. Those in charge of securing the signatures of players have failed their manager, who will now have to make do with what he has got until January, a window where value for money is virtually non-existent. With three weeks to go until deadline day, Newcastle were still searching for a left-back replacement for Jose Enrique and a striker to replace Carroll, who left in January. They managed to get a left-back, but despite knowing for the best part of eight months that a striker was needed to score the goals Carroll’s departure had taken out of the side, Newcastle failed to get one. They tried. A £10m bid for Kevin Gameiro was made and accepted, but the Frenchman went to PSG instead. A £8m offer for Mevlut Erdinc was made and accepted, but the Turk wanted to stay at PSG. An £8m bid was made to Sochaux for Modibo Maiga, but it was never accepted and Newcastle refused to raise it. A £10m offer for Papiss Demba Cisse was made with a day left in the window and rejected by Freiburg. It was not increased on the final day. A £10.6m offer was accepted by FC Twente for Bryan Ruiz, but it arrived just hours before the close of the window when, in reality, it was never likely to be successful when he had already given his word to Fulham. If Newcastle wanted Ruiz why not offer that amount with three days left, or with a whole day to play with? Instead they tried to hijack a deal that was almost done. With all these bids, Newcastle had months to look at targets and months to sort out a price. In fact, the Ruiz bid seems like a stunt to try and divert the flak that is now flying their way. After all, this is a club which offered Wigan £12m for Charles N’Zogbia on the final day of the January window with the Carroll money in their bank, but decided the same player was too expensive at £9m this summer before he signed for Aston Villa. There are positives which Pardew will have to take comfort from as he bites his tongue. He will be left to defend a regime in public which has let him down, while knowing it is his words about a striker being signed that will come back to haunt him. Phrases like 100% certain and the squad will not be stronger without one will be used as a stick to beat him with. Those positives are: Cabaye looks a bargain at £4.5m from Lille, Gabriel Obertan has brought pace and energy to the right-flank, Demba Ba has an excellent track record in Germany and West Ham, Sylvain Marveaux is not quite match fit, but he is a potentially exciting winger and Davide Stanton is a young Italian defender favourably compared to Paolo Maldini during his time at Inter Milan. Yet, as every Newcastle supporters knows, Newcastle’s squad has lost its two top goalscorers from last season – Carroll and Nolan – it’s spiky motivational force – Barton – and it’s flying left-back – Enrique. These are gaps that have been filled, but we have no idea how successfully. As things stand, Newcastle United, with an impressive seven points from their first three games, could be in trouble if injuries strike in defence or attack. It should not have been this way. They have allowed a positive start to the season to be engulfed by a negative end to the transfer window. They have created problems for themselves and, not for the first time, shot themselves in the foot. Pardew will have to make sure they limp on the best he can.

I was going to right pretty much the same thing ,if Pardew had any balls he would walk away imho but we dont know what sort of hold they have over him (casino debts) or he might not give a s*** and take one for the boys .His press conference will be very interesting and hopefully the red tops will give him the right questions and make him squirm and rightly so. "If Pardew had any balls he would walk". What good would fucking that do? People need to come off that shit. I'm really glad he's hanging in there. We'll be in total mess if he leaves. Come on dont be daft he would get a job in football no problem ,its not like getting shafted by your boss at Tesco for instance and you wouldnt leave cos your chances of getting a steady job for life anywhere else would be pretty much zero after that ,Pardew thinking for himself would say "fuck it im off" as he is being hung out to dry either against his will or not , "We'll be in a total mess if he leaves " well thats pretty selfish from our view point but im looking from his point of view and hopefully you understand where i am coming from ,we would be well in the shit if he did leave and i know that

Trust me. It may be getting cleaned who knows But it definetely wasn't there I walked around the outside of the ground yesterday dinnertime and there didn't appear to be any building work going on. HOWEVER, the gates underneath the Leazes Corner where you could stand and look into the ground had a roller shutter pulled down to stop you seeing into the ground so who knows?? Gonna use all the letters to spell LAND IT on the pitch as Ashley is an alien and this is the start of world domination
