  1. I mean he's tried to sign Ekiteke, Cunha to name just two highly technical players this summer. Woltemade signing, was a him or no one, type of signing. Which hasn't paid off at all, as he can't move around the pitch quick enough to be effective in the Premier League. Ironically we could have been better off with someone more athletic and less technical instead. Wissa, I'll give you, was a proven goal scorer (at the time at least). This particular narrative around Howe isn't very convincing.
  2. To me it looks like he's trying, and has, signed some highly technical players.
  3. With our budgets we can't shop at that level, as witnessed by the rejection of our targets last summer. So wondering why keeps getting brought up as a negative of Howe, that just wants runners when in fact he's constantly tried to improve the team with better players. Etikeke, Cunha, Szoboslai, Maddison etc etc. It's lazy.
  4. Keep reading that Eddie Howe is only interested in athletes, but isn't every player in the top teams an elite athlete. I don't get why this is levelled at Howe as a criticism. Looking at the PSG team, and can't find a single player who doesn't work hard.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Botman was waiting a lot of the summer for AC Milan to come in for him. IIRC. We absolutely need to be targeting the best out there. In our price range, just need to sell them on what we are trying to do, and make the numbers work.
  8. I agree with some of this. But to say Howe just plays his favourites over better players is a bit disingenuous. He plays players that he trusts ultimately. There has been many times when he's said he didn't expect that performance level from his team, or didn't see that performance coming, especially in times where we have let leads turn into poor defeats which suggests he feels the players let him down. So to go back to trusted players, especially strong leadership characters, like Dan Burn makes some sense. Tuchel can even see Burns value, on and off the pitch. Suggests Howe hasn't totally lost the plot. I also don't think Fulham game can be used to give us any indication of anything. Players played it like a friendly so they can arrive at the World Cup healthy. Jarring for us supporters but can kind of understand it.
  9. Like every manager does when joining a club. Have a word.

It will soon turn toxic. They will always be a selling club, it's a very undesirable place to play football.
  11. Can tell we have lost today. 7/8 new pages in an hour. Super glad the season is done. Need a bit of an overhaul with this team.

    Nick Woltemade

I like him a lot but I would rather we sell. We need someone a lot more mobile to succeed, just don't see it ever working for him here. When we played with Isak up top, the whole team worked well and was more dynamic. It's a night and day difference.
