  1. Indeed. Lovely little dig at Simpson again.. Also, not available for Brighton apparently.
  2. Apparently but i don't think its anywhere near as deep as the Cabaye-Debuchy bromance Is there anyone who isn't mates with Cabaye? LOSC's chairman?
  3. To me Cabaye is more important the chances he creates..... he ups the work rate of the team, we are much stronger defensively and more organised. We have been cut open at will without him which i have never seen happen when he was in the team. Everton away? regardless, Williamson is more dangerous as a goal threat for the opposition than he is likely to stop them scoring these days. Don't see how Cabaye coming back would improve our diabolical defending that much. Cabaye and Ben Arfa are huge misses, but having to rely on Williamson for so long has been our major downfall imho.
  4. Nah, not having that. Bring Bigi on was a good decision in itself, but it should definitely have been for Shola, not Obertan, who was one of our bright spots and only minutes before had almost equalised. Bigi on for Shola with Cisse moving to the middle and Marveaux out wide on the right was where it was at.
  5. Central defender is he? Left or right footed?
  6. Would not bang. Sick of entourages. They want a January move, but the club would prefer him to see out his contract according to that article. Would be interesting to see what kind of deal we've offered (i.e. free transfer at the end of the season or a deal for a January move)..
  7. Manchester United seem to be his most likely destination going off Google news? He any good? Haven't heard of him at all.
  8. We are. I'm not sure how going all gung ho with 8 attacking minded outfield players will help resolve that situation? For one we can keep the ball better and put teams under pressure and instead of them having no fear and easily combine for counter attacks they will drop backwards because they will have the likes of Anita, Santon, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Debuchy, Marveaux and maybe Remy running at them.... It will help defensively too for that reason as our defense wont be under anywhere near as much pressure. I never saw us under this much pressure under Keegan or Sir Bobby, honestly the best form of defense is having a good offense. I don't disagree with that in principle, but there's a balance to be had surely?
  9. Are you seriously suggesting missing some crucial players should not affect the others? Even Colo is not his formidable self lately with Williamson next to him. Coincidence?
  10. Everton could have had 3 or 4 in the first half if it wasn't for Krul, such was the ease with which the waltzed through our so-called defense at times.

  12. And two attacking full backs? I can see us getting completely overran in that formation.
  13. Could those talks not have taken place today if we wanted them to? I'm just flabbergasted that we decided not to play him when he's still ours, yet didn't want to change the gameplan and ended up playing f***ing Shola Ameobi in his place. It's pretty obvious from Pardew's comments that the club couldn't wait to draw a line under the whole thing. For the first 20 minutes or so, our players looked completely amped, and I genuinely thought Everton were in for a backlash thumping. That may be the case, but if it then means having to play Shola for the full 90 minutes plus extra time when we've known for years he's only effective for 30 at the most I think we've cut our nose to spite our face. f*** that! Since when did losing Ba to injury or to Chelsea have to mean playing Shola for 90 minutes? You need to read what I wrote. I'm not saying playing Shola for 90 minutes was the correct decision at all, but that is what actually happened, so my question is if that was in pardew's mind, why did we not try our utmost to have a player whose registration we own on the pitch playing for us, unless we weren't allowed, in which case that's fair enough in itself, although it still shouldn't have resulted in Shola playing.
  14. Agree with this. Marv likes a forward incisive pass, Shola's not that guy. I counted at least three times yesterday where Shola was literally immobile as a good ball came into the box in his vicinity. Not even lifting a leg to try and control it, just standing there helplessly as the defender nicks it from him. Disgraceful.

  16. Surprised so many people pick Ben Arfa and Cabaye ahead of Saylor. This is not about who is the best player not currently available due to injury, but whose absence hurts us the most. We've been doing fairly well creating chances without Cabs and Benny, whereas we're absolutely shipping goals this season, which is in no small part down to having to rely so heavily on Williamson instead of Saylor. You could say it's not getting in another CB this summer that is hurting us the most, but we wouldn't be where we are if Saylor had been fit all season in my opinion.
  17. Could those talks not have taken place today if we wanted them to? I'm just flabbergasted that we decided not to play him when he's still ours, yet didn't want to change the gameplan and ended up playing fucking Shola Ameobi in his place.
  18. Was it a decision by Pardew not to play Ba yesterday (understandable maybe if he wasn't right mentally due to the Chelsea situation), or because he was under offer?
  19. Wasn't he originally a pacey winger? I think he has done a fantastic job reinventing himself as a creative central midfield player. Not sure if the pace is still there to be effective as a wide player, but I would like to see us try it when Ben Arfa and Cabaye are back in the side. Anyway, one of the few highlights of the past month or so, alongside Anita.
  20. With Torres having been shit for the best part of his time with Chelsea (and well before), I really don't think Ba is just there as a bench filler.
  21. We had five or six good chances. Ba instead of Shola and we would have got away with something.
