  1. Just got back and thought it was a great match.

Yes we sat back in the first half, but if it wasn't for Cisse's understanding of the offside rule we might have went into the break 1-0 up. As others have said, we had them on the ropes for a lot of the second half. I noticed when Benfica started to slow-play and time waste early in the second half afterwhich we turned to clocks off around the ground - it seemed to have the desired effect. When Benfica scored at the end there was an amazing reaction from the fans when we all started to cheer the toon to try and lift them....we knew it was over but it was more to try and lift the players, I hope they appreciated it!

Oh and to the pissed-up charver cunt who was shouting all sorts of stupid shit like 'break his fucking legs'...next time I'll do more than nudge you and call you an arsehole when you walk past me...as it was you seemed to drop your balls when my lass shouted at you to 'move the fuck along'! lol....but apart from the odd one who tries to spoil it for everyone else, a top night!

  2. Well all my football bets went to s*** but I've just cashed out £50 from online roulette......so it ain't too bad!

I've left myself to play with £28, I'll give an update in 30 minutes!

A few quid down on the football....£61 quid up for the night on the roulette overall........not bad considering I don't normally play it!

  3. I just can't predict a win for us with any confidence, but part of that is panic and pessimism obviously.

I'm actually being a bit pessimistic with my predications.

I think we'll beat Fulham and the Mackems, but if we can actually get a draw at West Brom then that'll put us on a 3-game unbeaten run in the league (6 at home) and full of confidence for the Liverpool game. If Liverpool have one of their many away day off games, then who knows what sort of run we'll go on till the end of the season.

  4. Sorry, bit of a long post here. I had nothing better to do on the my lunch, so I've put my predication together for relegation. I didn't bother trying to predict QPR and Reading, I assuming they are already down.

  5. Right a completely unscientific approach here, but lets see how I get on.

I've taken all the score predictions from the predictions thread and averaged out the scores, rounding down any .5 values (just to keep the scores lower and more realistic). These are the resulting predications so far for this weekend:

    Mackems vs Man Utd 0 – 3

    Arsenal vs Reading 3 – 0

    Man City vs Newcastle 2 – 1

    Southampton vs Chelsea 1 – 2

    Swansea vs Spurs 1 – 2

    West Ham vs WBA 1 – 1

    Wigan vs Norwich 2 – 1

    Everton vs Stoke 2 – 0

    Aston Villa vs Liverpool 1 – 2

    Fulham vs QPR 1 – 1

On the back of this, I'm going to put the following bets on......

A home, away and draw accy for all of above, comes in at 730/1.

This season I've had my best results with 4 team accys containing two homes, an away and a draw. So I'll put this one on from the above predications Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham draw, Wigan…16/1

And I'm going to put a couple of 50p trixie score predications

    Mackems vs Man Utd 0 – 3 @ 10/1

    Man City vs NUFC 2 – 1 @ 7/1

    West Ham vs WBA 1 – 1 @ 11/2

    Max Returns £390

    Arsenal vs Reading 3 – 0 @ 13/2

    Southampton vs Chelsea 1 – 2 @ 7/1

    Wigan vs Norwich 2 – 1 @ 7/1

    Max Returns £332

On top of these a couple of championship accys

Friday - Watford, Palace, Blackpool draw and Leicester…..17/1

Saturday - Boro, Nottm Forest, Hull and Charlton draw….36/1

And to finish off a fun bet of NUFC to beat Man City 2-1 @ 28/1

  6. I know this is the away match thread...but I was trying to buy a couple of tickets for the Benfica home match as they are on general sale today according to nufc.co.uk. I'm not a season ticket holder or club member, so I've had to wait for the general sales.

However it's saying 'There is no allocation left on this event for you or friend & family', but there are clearly seats available.

I'm just wondering whether they've genuinely sold out (which I doubt) or it's just the website being crap!

I'll give them a call a lunchtime and order over phone if they haven't sorted it out by then.

Has anyone else been able to get any tickets this morning?

  7. These Benfica fans are awfully polite. I wonder if they fancy throwing the game for us?

Not a chance  :knuppel2: But in all seriousness, like some of us said before this competition is not our 1st priority, so there's a big chance we won't play our usual team in any of the matches. But we'll see.

We are being polite but were you all expecting us not to be?

We've had some erm...interesting fans visit us before (Greeks, Turks etc...) Never know what you'll get

Or some Man City fans smashing up the Goose At the Garden under Elden Green several years ago (the cunts)........I think I prefer to see the European fans in town!

  8. Looks like the Man City away match on 30th of Mar could be a write-off, I'd be happy to play a weakened team to keep our best players fit for the quarter final.

Relegation fight is not over yet...

Yes it is, we're fighting for a top half position now.

I don't think so: Wigan with a game in hands and a home fixture with us, if we lose and Villa beat QPR we are back at 3 points above relegation.

We need to get to 40 points anyway.

I'm not saying it's over, not by a long way. But being realistic, we are unlikely to get anything from Man City away, so I'd rather we accepted this and kept our players for the Europa game a few days later.

  9. Jonas MOTM simply because I thought we were completely f***ed when Cabaye went off injured. El Galgo put in a stunning performance in the middle of midfield (the only position he can play) that kept us on the front foot for most of the game.

Taylor had one of his best ever games in the shirt and put in the kind of performance that should have seen him called up to the England squad, and a starting place in the next two matches tbh. He was THAT good.

Mbiwa, Marveaux and Elliot complete the set of players who did very well overall imo. Cisse might have edged in there scoring the excellent winner.

Sissoko, Haidara and Anita were not at their best, but still put in a shift.

Tiote and Santon should take a long look at the video and themselves. Something needs sorting out in their heads.

P.S. This "shooooooooot" business when Tiote has the ball has gone a step too far.

Sod all the above though, what matters is we won!!! When exactly are we allowed to start believing we'll be in Amsterdam on May 15th? :indi:

    Yes. Please.

Aye, it's becoming a bit of a parody now.....he did it once against Arsenal and has had a few other stingers that the keeper has saved.

  10. The quarter final matches are on 4th and 11th April, so I assume the Fulham home match on Sat 6th will be moved to Sunday as well as the Mackem home match which is currently scheduled for Sat 13th @ 12.45 on Sky? Will it still get moved if it's scheduled for TV?

Looks like the Man City away match on 30th of Mar could be a write-off, I'd be happy to play a weakened team to keep our best players fit for the quarter final.

  11. I meant to post this earlier....

I put a treble on this morning of Hurricane Fly, Barcelona and Galatasaray. £3 returns £66, in hindsight I wish I put Barca at -1.

    1 down.....two to go!

5th minute of stoppage time winner....get in!

  12. Tiote will get a kicking on here tonight, and Cabaye will be lauded for his freekick

Tiote deserves to get a kicking, his challenge was f***ing stupid but I agree he had a blinding game apart from that.

Cabeye however, his dead ball skills are f***ing gash! I know we want to keep the guy happy so he doesn't leave us, but come on, someone has to tell him that he's off corners and (indirect) free kicks!

  13. £15 on Man U, NUFC, THFC and a draw at Millwall.

    Millwall draw just in

I've got the same bet. £3 returns £130.

NUFC giving me a f***ing heart attack but coming in, looking like the Man U result as well failing another capitulation.

    Spurs man, come on.

I'm thinking of putting some sort of cover bet on Liverpool....
