Anybody else think that Watford look good value at 5/4 (away at Wolves) on Friday?
Good call, I'm going for a double tonight of Watford and Palace. £5 returns £29 on Bet Fred.

the gamble not to play Gouffran seems to have paid off again.
Maybe I'm the think cunt and haven't picked up the running joke?
or maybe not?

Bets for the weekend....what do people think for 4 draws for the 4 premier league matches on Sunday?
I think it's a pretty good possibility, they are all close to call matches and it come in at around 150-1 on Bet Fred!

I haven't bet on football for months and just logged into my bet365 account to find it had £6 left in it.
So stuck it on a treble of Newcastle, West Brom and Swansea to win.
Potential £48 return.

If we do manage to finish 4th then I'm going to stick £100 on Chelsea to win the final........it'll ease the pain just a little bit if they win!!
-
I didn't think they were that bad to be honest. We were bloody good and hardly broke sweat but they weren't that bad. They were awful. Worst I've seen a team play this season (apart from maybe Wolves against Man U not so long ago)
To put it mildly, they were fucking gash!
-
Quick question....do you want to see Newcastle qualify for Europe this season?
I don't think our squad is big enough for Europe at the moment and it could have a negative effect on our league performances (see Stoke and Fulham this season), plus there isn't enough money in the Europa cup to allow us to build our squad up. I guess it would make us slightly more attractive to prospective players when trying to make signings in the summer though.
I do miss the European mid-week matches, but I don't think we are ready for it for another season or two!

Footballers who claim to give more than 100% and pundits pronouncing our team Nu-carstle!

had £25 in my betfair account - left over from a free bet offer when I signed up. So have stuck a straight £25 on West Brom to win tonight. Should get back about £42 (if I win).

I know I've broken rule number 1 of Bet Club, but...
£5 on
NEWCASTLE v Bristol City

NEWCASTLE v Bristol City
SHEFF UTD v Doncaster
LEEDS v Charlton
MILLWALL v Tranmere
Cheltenham v NOTTS COUNTY

I hate those sort of bets, if NUFC, Sheff Utd or Millwall fuck up then both your bets are screwed.
I think you should place another bet in case one of those 3 fuck up!

I think there's a lot more to it than this. For example the sale of James Milner and the club not buying players he wanted, but what has been cited in this tribunal is all he can really hold against the club.
I believe Keegan did the right thing, but personally I think the reason given was more the 'final straw' rather than the main reason.

People say the Championship is the worst division to bet on, it's the best. The league is so unpredictable that you get great odds. I don't like to put anymore than 4 teams on a accumulator because it then becomes almost impossible. You're best off finding the games with good odds, so I picked Barnsley at 18/5, Reading at 10/3 and then two 12/5/11/4 draws between Sheff U and Ipswich and Palace and Wednesday. I had two accumulators last week pretty similar to this one and 2 out of 4 came in on both, I didn't win them but I was only two teams away and the payout was good on both from only a few pounds at most. I think it's the most profitable way of attempting accumulators insread of predicting 8 games on teams you "think" will come through. Go with the odds not the instinct.
I like this too, but at the end of the day it's still a punt.
I guess the difference to other systems is that you are laying out much smaller amounts with higher odds, so although you may lose more often when you do win it'll be a much higher amount. And because of the nature of the Championship you are more likely to get upsets than in the Premiership, so you would expect the higher odds bets to come in more often.
I'm willing to give any 'system' a try a couple of times and test the theory myself.
Will let you know how I get on at the weekend.

Only bet I've got a chance with now is if Barca and Arsenal score another goal each then I win £42

Lyon, Seville, Arsenal (-1), Barca (-2) £5 returns £42
Bristol Rovers, Sheff Utd, Preston, West Brom £5 returns £75
Bournemouth, Boro, Leeds, Arsenal, Barca £5 returns £31

I haven't decided exactly what bets I'm going to do tonight, but it'll be combinations of the following (to win):
Preston, Leeds Utd, Newcastle, West Brom, Charlton, Bristol Rovers, Bournemouth, Dag & Red, Rotherham, Arsenal, Barca, AC Milan, Man Utd, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Chelsea.
-
Mackems
Roma
Juventus
Espanyol
£5 wins £30
-
Benfica v Leixoes
Benfica (-2.0)
9/5
£5 returns £14
Benfica 5-0
That's £39 winnings for the day. Lost 4 accys today though.
I think I'll stick to betting on handicaps for now - much better chance of winning for decent odds

Had a £3 accy on the four premier league games today, returned £170.
For tomorrow I've got a £3 accy on NUFC, Spurs, Man Utd and a Millwall Blackburn draw which returns around £130.
Also £2 on NUFC -1 and Spurs -1 which returns around £50.
And I'll stick a few doubles on NUFC first goal scorer and result, haven't decided yet though.
