Replace Obafemi Martins with Jason Scotland
Selling an 8-12 goal a season Premiership striker for £7m, and replacing him with a 20-25 goal a season Championship striker for less than half of that isn't the worst idea in the world tbh.
How many 20-25 goal a season Championship strikers have even managed to get 12 goals a season in the Premiership?
Chopra.
oh, hang on...
Darren Bent
Andy Cole
Andy Johnson
Kevin Doyle
Kevin Phillips
Marcus Stewart
Julian Joachim
Les Ferdinand
Marlon Harewood

I saw a piece on a station here in the States about goal-line technology and there is a company in Japan (go figure!) that has created a technology that I think could be really useful. There are small (very very small) chips all around the ball and when all of the chips cross the goal line completely, it makes the ref's watch vibrate letting him know that the ball crossed the line. There are no crazy fireworks or lights or anything, it's small and subtle and does not distract from the game. Only the refs will know if it crossed the line completely so there can be no debate from either team. I think it is these kinds of small and unobtrusive technologies that we need to look into implementing into the game. They don't stop the play or flow of the game and they make sure the game is called correctly.
Wouldn't that be staggeringly expensive?
I think the main problem FIFA or whoever face with implementing this technology is how far down does it go? Surely they can't just give it to the top leagues, so where do you draw the line? If the prem has it, the championship should have, so should leagues one and two, do the conference get it? Below there?
Ideally it would be every game in every league, but the use of hawkeye in tennis and cricket isn't universal and it certainly improves the decision making when it is in use. Why not just prem/champs league/major championships? Cost-wise surely it couldn't cost that much more than those stupid headsets, or the little golf carts they bring on to carry players off the field.

What about that song from the mysterious cities of gold? I always liked that one.

"Lose Weight now, ask me how"

Nothing has changed, other than the fact that we have dropped into the relegation zone...

We need a lot of new players, but it's madness to think any club can sign 8-10 players in one summer, just won't happen.
Allardyce signed 9.
But he also released 5 I believe.
Players In
Mark Viduka
Joey Barton
David Rozehnal
Nijtap Geremi
Alan Smith
Claudio Caçapa
Jose Enrique
Abdoulaye Faye
Habib Beye
Looking at that list, there's a couple of dodgy ones (Rozehnal, Caçapa, Smith) but not one of them that you couldn't see easily holding down a place in a mid-table prem side. It's pathetic how little they have contributed, Viduka included.
Would definitely keep him on a Pay-per-game basis though. Cheap as chips.

all results going for us
For now...

Dalglish signed a load of shit, but also Given, Speed, Solano and Hamann. Some gems.

He's a loudmouth scottish drunkard

We can write Viduka off at the end of the Season. For now he has a role to play. Probably just for those 5 minutes, but lets wait and see.

I think yous are slightly missing the point, Adrinao could not hide his utter reliance on one foot others could with skill, powerful running & I am sure various other factors. He would not of became a legendary great & as I typed he may have became a good striker in the history of Italian league,a good one in the history of Inter & a footnote in Brazilian football. I liked Sir Les he dominated the PL for a few seasons but he is not a legendary great, he was a good PL striker & striker that people will remember in the history of Newcastle & QPR as well.
I am glad you posted Ronaldo because Adriano is not even in the same book as him never mind the same page. Here is a list of some of the players I class as legendary greats:Pele, Mardonna, Puskas, DiStefano, Garrincha, Cruyff, Duncan Edwards, Best, Shola & Moore if you think Adriano would of got to that level fair play to you for seeing that in him.
Sneaked that one in there, like it.

I don't like the term 'franchise' for a football club. It's a football club.

On question time now.
Bassong was on question time? What did he make of the question "Is it enough for MPs to follow the rules when claiming expenses, or is there a moral duty to do what seems right?"
