  1. who was the third candidate?
  2. To be fair it is stupid of PV to ask full control if thats the case. This is a big job for him he should start here.
  3. Souness probably was tbh. Are you serious Sourness better than McClaren?
  4. I was with PV the last few days but in terms of qualification SM is better than what we hire since Sir Bobby.
  5. It was very exciting while it last.
  6. Lee Clark has revealed it is his ‘dream’ to manage Newcastle United - and that he believes they are one of the best run clubs in the Premier League under Mike Ashley’s stewardship. Former Magpies midfielder Clark resigned as Blackpool boss at the end of the season after failing to stop the crisis-hit Seasiders slide into League One. But he says the experience hasn’t dented his confidence, and that he would love to return to St James’s Park one day as manager. “It would be my dream to manage the club,” said Clark. “People ask John Carver how he could take the job with the owner not spending, but if you’re a Geordie and you turn down being Newcastle manager, you’ll regret it for life. “Having a relegation on my CV hurts but it hasn’t knocked my confidence. In hindsight, I regret taking the Blackpool job – but it will help in the future.” It would be my dream to manage the club. Lee Clark Blackpool’s fans invaded the pitch during their last game of the season, at home against Huddersfield, forcing the match to be abandoned as part of their protests against unpopular owner Karl Oyston. The toxic atmosphere between supporters and the owner has prompted comparisons with Newcastle fans’ dissatisfaction with Mike Ashley. But Clark insists there are major differences – and he hopes Ashley’s interview before the last game of the season against West Ham will be the start of a new dawn at St James’s Park. He added: “A lot of people have told me there are similarities between Newcastle and Blackpool, but Mike Ashley presides over one of the best run clubs in the Premier League, judged on sound businesses principles alone – though in football that isn’t always possible. “That football club dictates people’s lives in Newcastle, they will spend their last penny to go to the match. People say their expectations are too high, delusions of grandeur, but they just want a team that mirrors their passion. “When I played under Kevin Keegan, he totally understood that. From what Mike Ashley said before the West Ham game, he accepts having exciting players and playing the Geordie way goes with the territory.”
  7. You don't actually need to have the coaching badges to manage in the PL, they will accept the fact that you are working towards them. Thanks for killing some of my optimism. Are you going to be jealous if we end up with PV.
  8. Sicking if Carr really push this because he is his mate my estimation for him will be low.
  9. What if Vieira was their first choice from the beginning. Obviously he can not manage in January as he didn't have the coaching badges. They tried to find out if they get special approval. (Charney was saying in the next week we will know for sure if we get our guy or not in January) it was not to be and they gamble with JC. As soon as the he got the badges last week the talk and hopefully the appointment this week will be proceed.
  10. How come that guy Edwards have been saying it´s McCLaren at any opportunity..? He got an agenda? he always does. deserve his ban imo
  11. Tasty. TBH I would be tempted to keep Tiote as well. My Idea exactly. But PV might not want him here outright.
  12. The talk will be fine. Even by Ashley standard he showed some sort of fire from his belly when he said we are going for it. Kegan suspected he secured someone excited and he suggested Laudrup. Thinking about it now I thing PV is more exciting than the great Dane.
  13. Same here the more I research about him the more I want him so badly.
  14. http://whatculture.com/sport/12-things-newcastle-fans-need-to-know-about-patrick-vieiras-managerial-career.php? “My coaching style is a combination from my experience of working with Arsene Wenger, Fabio Capello and Jose Mourinho. “There is a little bit of all of them, plus my own experience to deliver my message. The relationship with the players is so important. “I want to trust them but they must trust me, too. I like it because I want to be close with them.” He is telling Lee that right now...
  15. They can take out McCalarn from the list and we all be excited keep calm with the rest of the options
  16. COMMENT: Worried about Patrick Vieira, Toon fans? Well consider this... Bayern Munich made an attempt to whisk him away from his development role at Manchester City this season. The German giants want Vieira to take charge of their reserve team, with the view to the Frenchman succeeding Pep Guardiola as senior coach. We can all question the hiring and firing of Mike Ashley at Newcastle United. But Bayern are serious football people. If they see something in Vieira, it's worth taking notice. In Germany, they're surprised City have allowed Vieira's contract to run down. There's every chance that if Ashley impresses the former Arsenal captain in their meeting this week, a handshake is all that will be needed to install him as new Toon boss. Vieira can pack his bags and walk out of City anytime this month. His title of 'Elite Development Squad' coach doesn't do Vieira's job at City justice. Yes, he's been coaching the kids. But he's also been driving club partnerships around Europe. Last year, he was instrumental in establishing City's formal alliance with Djurgardens of Sweden. The Frenchman places City youth teamers on-loan across the continent, scouts potential signings and also builds partnerships and contacts with European clubs. His primary focus has been coaching the EDS, but his skills set has expanded every year since joining the club's coaching staff in 2011. This is what Bayern have recognised - and hopefully for Newcastle fans, what Ashley's advisers have mentioned to him. Vieira will bring more to the Toon job than just his profile. He won't be just someone off the pundits' coach. He'll move into Darsley Park as a manager four years in the making. And he'll be joining as a winner. Vieira led City to victory in the inaugural U21 Premier League International Cup this season, beating Porto in the final and Bayern Munich along the way. The French connection is obvious. But if Ashley carries out his mooted plan of 'buying British' this summer, it will be less of a factor. However, Vieira is a world name and won't have trouble convincing players to join him. It'll be more about how much Ashley is willing to bankroll. In that shock appearance fortnight ago, Ashley did hint of making more funds available to the next manager. "It’s no good having the horse and cart scenario. We may have the cart financially but we are now going to bolt the horse on. And we’re going to." This is what Vieira will seek from Ashley at their meeting this week. The chairman and his right-hand man, Lee Charnley, will get guarantees from Vieira about bringing through more talent from the academy. This is in the Frenchman's DNA. He doesn't need to be told. But, in turn, Vieira will need clear guarantees that he'll be supported in the transfer market. Vieira was rumbled on a visit to Bayern's training centre in January by David Alaba. Upon seeing the Gunners legend on Sabener Strasse, the Austrian made an immediate beeline for a handshake and a selfie. The best young left-back in Europe was determined to record the moment. Vieira will be good for Newcastle. But the Magpies can be good for Vieira. He's on record admitting he loves St James' Park and the support of the Toon Army. “My favourite stadium I have played in in this country I have to say is Newcastle. I like Newcastle’s stadium. I love the atmosphere and I like the way the stadium is built and I loved playing there.” For those still not convinced, it's 23 years since Newcastle handed another rookie the reigns. But Kevin Keegan didn't have the four years of coaching and management experience Vieira boasts. He came straight off the golf course. Yet, for five years he and Newcastle shook up the world. Vieira is the man to bring the days of KK, Beardo and Daveeed back to Newcastle.
  17. You named the 4. Laudroup is not in their list I just put it in since I am a fan.
  18. Who is the forth one? Carver? Laudrup Vieira Garde McClaren
  19. People still voting for Garde
  20. Newcastle will give him the tools for himself and the club to be successful. He will have plenty of good players with millions to spend this summer. We also give him a platform to manage one of the best teams in England. This along with million other reasons will make us an attractive option for him and great tools to deliver and make him one of the best managers in the future.
  21. Berhaino will be music to my ears.
  22. I dont really get why the club talk to PV if their intention are not clear. If they want to hire McClaran they can wish to do so with out window dressing.
  23. Vieira is closer to what they think on that article than McClaran.
  24. If this happen I will be so happy I will get carry on for the whole summer. I will worry about all the negative stuff after the season starts.
  25. I wonder who is the third person running?
