Beckford has legit qualities. Whoever gets him next year is going to be very happy.

Their entire team and bench is the same as the league game. Appears so, and it will be fascinating to see how our different lineup handles them this time around. Particularly in the middle of the park, and also the Thomas vs. R. Taylor matchup.

I hope we absolutely hammer them and Guthrie, Nolan and Pancrate have stormers. Only because we need Guthrie to remain in the centre and for Nolan to play off the frontman in order to improve our midfield and we therefore really need a right winger to step up i.e. Pancrate! Really pleasantly surprised that Hughton has picked this lineup. He's clearly thinking along the right lines. Well done sir.

He's never impressed me, of course I wouldn't really be opposed to that, as he'd probably fit well enough here. Really? He's a large class above anything we have. I loved him when he was at Arsenal. Superb dribbler, excellent technique, intelligent and creative passer of the ball. He fitted Arsenal down to an absolute tee. Don't see how people could say he wasn't good enough for Arsenal when he was a regular in their side when they got to their only ever Champions League final. Okay phyically he wasn't great and he seems to have an aversion to shooting but he's a certainly not a bad player ffs. Talented player don't get me wrong. However, in every 90 mins of football he played, he was effective for maybe 10mins overall. Particularly horrid on the wing, where he was usually played. Looked better when played just behind the front man. Just not my cup of tea. He really wouldn't do well on a team with a bunch of average players either. Would have to be surrounded by a lot of other talent o be really worth it.

It'll be nice to have someone who is really imposing and dominant in the air, back there. S. Taylor looks like he should be, but isn't really that kind of defender in reality, and Colo isn't at all that type. I'm actually excited about this signing, such has the lack of signings been. Really though, I'm optimistic. There have been a lot of centre backs coming out of the championship and doing well lately. Fingers crossed he does well, not just this seaon, but also next should we make the step up.

You look at what has happened with Portsmouth and West Ham, and now even the situations at the bigger clubs like Liverpool and Man U and you really have to wonder what is going on. Dare I say, in a weird way I have actually come to appreciate Mike Ashley Somewhat (!), the cheapo that he is. The club seems to be in very good shape financially now, and we should be in a healthy position if we are fortunate to go back up. At this moment in time I'm happy to see him stay for now, and intrigued by what will happen with the team if we go up. He essentially has the kind of manager that suits the structure that he originally had in mind, so would be interesting to see how it all plays out. I'm expecting Nacho to return and lead the prem in assists next season and for Xisco to be top scorer with 30 goals all under Hughton.

Jagielka, Lescott, Johnson and Dann at Birmingham. All came up from the championship as centre backs and have done well in the prem. Hope this works out for us too ...
