He looks more like a withdrawn striker - a replacement for Ayoze, rather than Rondon. And he looks pretty decent too, so I'm prepared to buy into the dream for the time being.
Um ... no.
I'm only going by a Youtube video, but in the vast majority of the clips he was picking the ball up deep or out wide, with team mates ahead of him. He didn't look like a Rondon type at all.
Yeah, I know. Was more the idea of Perez being replaced I didn't agree with.
Regarding Joelinton's position though, from transfermarkt he does seems to have transitioned more into a lead striker this season, and interestingly, has played that role in the 3-4-2-1 system we use currently as well as in a 3-4-1-2. Although as you rightly said, he has also played the Ayoze position too in our current setup. Seems versatile, which is nice.
Makes sense that Rafa would have enquired about him, in anticipation of the club messing up the Rondon signing in the summer. The club would gladly then mess any deal for this guy up too though. All set for a wonderful summer.

For anyone that hasn't seen it (official Sky channel so it's areet)
This is so terrible.
Why are the other Chelsea players letting some snotty nosed 24 year old kid that just joined and has proved nothing carry on like that?
Cannot believe that. David Luiz is so weak there. Should have smacked the heck out of him.
Rotten club.

Ashley is obsessed with not paying a fee/giving up assets or wages for players older than 29 that's why.
-
Pretty much
He's basically the same type of striker but within Ashley's age range and potential resale value stipulation.
Be interesting to see if they are willing to perhaps pay around £25 - £30 million (Which is where I imagine it might end up) for him rather than the £16 million for Rondon.

Very impressive performance by Solskjaer. All things considered a great showing from his team.
-
Reading his whoscored breakdown and watching some of his highights he is very much a Rondon type.
Guy is a monster.
Those leg muscles.
Obafemi levels
In his highlight video the way he flings some defenders around and how they bounce off him is almost comical. Seems to have some skill, technique and mobility too.
Looks a talent, and probably who Rafa wants if the club aren't willing to sign up Rondon in the summer. At that quoted price it appears we'll have a ton of work to do convincing his club to sell.
-
Milner has been awful.
Why on earth has he started him ahead of Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back? Ridiculous.

Liverpool should be ashamed of themselves here.
Man U have had to replace 3 experienced players in the first half and Matic, Lingaard and Martial weren't even available to start to begin with.
Terrible if they don't win here. Unacceptable even.

Shaw having a really good game
Such a good player. Another that Mourinho messed about loads.
Can't get my head around how a full back can manage to be so fat though.
-
Think Liverpool are going to bottle this.
-
They're saying the main rumour is that they're after Brendan Rodgers.
-
Shocking result for Leicester. My goodness.
-
Be surprised if Puel sees out the next week
They've looked decent without really threatening at all.
Don't think Vardy is the striker for the way his team plays.
-
Fantastic break.

Zaha gets constantly kicked all over and still carries on tbf. He dives though, that's the problem rather than bravery imo.
For the type of player he is he has to accept that it comes with the territory.
Needs to stop diving and expecting the ref to give him everything and getting caught up in all that. Think it actually throws him off his game.
Should just focus on what he's doing and let the ref make the calls. Almost seems as though he goes down because he's scared his move won't come off or something, like he's given up in his mind already. Such a strange player.
Think he could be so much better with a more positive mindset. Looks for excuses so much.
-
Zaha is so awful man ... falls over under the slightest pressure rather than have more faith in his abilities. Not a brave player at all.
-
Heck of an upgrade from Atsu to Almiron man ... my goodness.
-
27 shots and 12 on target!
-
the fuck is going on with hayden? looks a different player, seems much more forward thinking in his play these days and it really suits him
Yeah, really sucks we may have to sell him now due to the family situation. This form should hike his price up at least. Still just 23 man.
-
So much credit to both Longstaff and Hayden of late man.
Could have been in such a mess with all the injuries and absences in central midfield.
Really liking the partnership more and more.
-
Longstaff is a real talent like
Love his mindset. Kid does not ever want to come out of the team again going forward now.
Shelvey is becoming more and more expendable with each passing game. Might be gone in the summer at this rate.
-
Perez has been one of our best signings ever.
He's something else in this 3-4-2-1 setup.
Think Almiron will only make thigns even easier for him.
Exciting times, until the summer at least. SMH.

What a parasite that fat head is man. Goodness sake.
Hope he goes in there and makes an even bigger mess of things. Clown.
