Boro were awful under Mclaren. They were terrible to watch, boring cloggers whose only aim was to stop the other team and nick something. Reminds of a certain smug manager who has just left. If McLaren gets the job, whats he going to do any different...Not allowed to finish in the top 8, not allowed to try in the cups, best preforming player or players sold, club actually has no ambition to improve itself, rubbish salary and rubbish bonus. Whats the point in taking that job?
  3. Either way, exciting times ahead!

Everytime the TV revenue goes up then he can keep it the same, allowing SD full coverage.

It would be really bad timing at the moment, i think they will do what they did when Hughton took over before the championship. Just let it ride all summer and Carver gets it be default.

Hmm, Looking back over the events from when he took over i think its been all about SD. All he wanted to do was come in, let the football side take care of itself with a manager who will say and do what Ashley tells him. I think Allardyce was sacked due to being an expensive manager with all his management team, KK walked when he refused to be a puppet. Kinnear brought in as a cheap option to steady the ship. Hughton appointed as the cheap option, Pardew appointed as Hughton couldn't get the likes of Barton, Nolan co to sign the bonus agreements. Kinnear brought back to fill the void of Llambias, Carver holding the ship when Pardew left. Ever since Ashley has taken over its all been about streamlining the club, running it as the bare mimimum, taking the easy less expensive option when selecting managers and anyone who gets in the way or disagrees gets pushed out the door quick as you like. You can even read it in the transfers, we mainly sign cheap French imports or those at the end of their contract. Run the club at little cost, advertise SD with little effort.

  9. It might not turn out a bad idea to have bought nufc in the long run and plastering his SD company all over the stadium. Your general customer at SD isn't bothered about the company and what it does. Fans of a football club care a whole lot more. Buying NUFC and running it the way he has, has brought him big rewards but will also bring him unwanted attention especailly since everyone involved in the media has realised what he has been upto with NUFC.

He has shares in JD doesn't he? Does Adidas and Nike still refuse to let SportsDirect stock their stuff? Last I heard they didn't want to cheapen the brand. IM sure ive seen Adidas and Nike in his shops, not the best stuff from what ive seen but its in there. Maybe it stuff he has bought and had stocked in his warehouse for ages and maybe other stock he has bought from other companies going bust. SD now do workwear and school uniforms. Absolute tat.

Just read this, I think its time for AShley to come out and speak to the fans, he wont like some articles will come out from ex players saying "wait until the summer", then Charnley might release a statement to the chronicle so no one can actually question him in an interview, carver will be wheeled out every 5 minutes telling fans to stick by the team. This is it for Ashley i think, he has been give a good few years by the fans and he has changed at all. NUFC is a football club not a business you can manage remotely.

Ashley's flying monkey men might not let you in the stadium if you have an alternate club shirt on.

From Swiss Ramble's Report on NUFC "The former Newcastle board got many things wrong, but it is difficult to argue with the strategy expressed in their last annual report, which was “to secure the club’s position among the top teams in England and compete in Europe on a regular basis. Success on the pitch brings financial reward in terms of enhanced gate receipts and increased broadcasting and other revenues.” The big question is whether Mike Ashley is the man to deliver this virtuous cycle?"

This... comes down to what you actually stand for. For me, ive been in exile for a while bar the odd game. I cant bring myself to give ashley any of my money or TIME. NUFC to me is more than a football club, its actually a part of the community that people gather round. Its having the piss taken out of it by someone who is using it as a spring board for personal gain. My grandad, dad, CP40 and me have all invested emotion into that club over the years, Ashley cant buy that but he is making damn sure we cant go again. Not sure how anyone can think about going at the minute. People need to seriously look in the mirror.
