Journalist: "So Shola, do you have a nickname at the club?"
Ameobi: "Not really no."
"What do the lads call you?"
"Shola."
"What does Bobby Robson call you?"
"Carl Cort."

Me Mams just come in with the news I was coming in pissed last night, tried to take my boot off and fell and smashed my face square off the tile floor.
I couldn't remember that and I was wondering why everything was hurting
oh and
1832: The game at St James' Park may be live on television, but that has not stopped 47,505 from turning up to see Newcastle play Derby. It's easily the biggest attendance of the day in England.
wow. on a Monday night, in the fizzy pop league, against Derby, while live on TV

Was just bizarre. No-one was even close to him, he was in our half, just randomly decides "well, normal players would just control this and pass it on, but I'M NICKY BUTT DAMMIT!" and overhead kicks it out.

tough schedule for Fulham: ManU, Spurs and Chelsea in 9 days. But if they can beat Spurs now, they could move as high as 6th easily. Heady stuff

Crouch goal, Spurs up 1-0

USA! USA! USA! We're gonna kick some ass and take some names!

I do have a question for everyone that's making assumptions about the pots. Why is it assumed that the South American 3 will go with the African 5, when it could easily be the North American 3 that go with the African 5. I mean, since they only use relatively recent results, I would have to think that Mexico and the USA have done better than chile/paraguay/uruguay, so why wouldn't they get bumped into the 3rd pot? Am I missing something here?

I just want to thank espn360 for allowing me to watch this game in HD for free on my computer on a high quality stream. I'm so used to watching on shitty streams, this feels amazing.
How did you get that?
Sorry, only in the USA for now. It's fucking great though.

This game is on ESPN 360
whats that???
An American thing-online broadband service that basically seems to show almost every televised worldwide match in most sports, including random lower league matches, and it's free for most people. Greatest thing ever, we generally get more televised Newcastle matches than you lot because of it (or at least as many), and don't have to pay anything. Of course, I'm at work now, and all video is blocked here, so I can't get it.

So I'm sitting here watching this match and finding it hard to believe that someone who frequents this board has claimed Dunne is the worst defender in the premiership. Absolutely laughable really. Not to mention this same person has claimed Darren Bent was incapable of playing upfront with a strike partner and he could only play alone upfront ... I'm not even sure what that is supposed to mean.
Also, Milner is still unspeakably average. I mean seriously ... the guy is almost painful to watch the majority of the time.
Agree with all of that. Only thing I'd add is that Milner is EPL average. He hasn't risen to the next level of superstar winger like some hoped, but he's definitely still solidly the quality of a starter as a winger in the EPL.

MON is starting to lose his plot, sooner or later the Villa fans will certainly turn on him and demand him leaving.
How so? The team is still certainly in the top 7, made a nice run for the CL last year. For a team without the resources of a Man City or top 4 team, they have done great, and still doing fine this year. They may not be challenging quite as strongly for the CL this year, but still clearly a European team. I don't see the fans turning on him at all.
-
Bellamy has had a great season, I did not see that coming at all. On top of all these players, they still have Robinho coming back by their next match or so also. If players like Bellamy and Ireland continue to play at this level, Man City will finish top 4 ahead of Liverpool for sure.

How is it a weekend without football? All that is happening is 15 teams will qualify for the world cup, as well as all the playoffs for the final 5 spots being set. England's match is irrelevant for England, so anyone who simply likes football should be watching one of the qualifiers anyway. A weekend without Newcastle I assume you mean, but tbh, the team clearly needs the break as well, so all for the best.

Looks like what happened is that a lot of people that would have voted Chicago eventually just voted Madrid in the first round to appease the emotional Samaranch, planning on then voting Chicago later, thus all of them gasping when Chicago was eliminated, not realizing a lot of people did the same thing. Voting dynamics can be crazy. At this point, it pretty much has to be Rio.
-
Chicago out in the first round? Stunning. Come on Rio!

I would think chicagoshearer would be the man for the job.

Need to take advantage of this spell.

fucking cups and their injuries man. Outside of the cup games, we've been remarkably healthy this year, especially for a Newcastle side. but man, these cups, they will be the death of us.
