Boyd up front on his own lol.  Who is this Skirge they talk of?  He must be a right fucking belter.

Sponsor ruins what would be an otherwise brilliant top.

From what i've heard Tennents wanted to have the "T" logo on the shirts but it was against some SFA regulation on the height of shirt sponsors.

  3. My cheering for Chilie is over. Have money riding on Brazil.

Brazil looked really good for the five minutes leading up to Elano's goal against the Ivory Coast.  For those five minutes, they looked like Brazil.  That aside I think they've looked a bit too pedestrian in their build up.  Could all change now that we're into knock-out though.

  4. Holland.  I backed them each way at 11/1 before the tournament.  Now down to 7/1.  They'll likely run into Brazil and Spain on their way to the final though so i've not spent the money just yet.  Shaky at the back but with Robben coming back into contention they have a matchwinner.  If you have one of those then you have a chance.

  5. Surprising that would be in the rule book. Just common sense the ref should be able to play advantage through and take appropriate action (whatever it is, be it telling off, yellow, red etc...) once play stops.

Otherwise it's worth punching another player in the face near the half way circle when the other team go one on one with the keeper. Ref can only either give a red or play advantage and not both! You either save a goal or only get booked

What if the keeper saves the one-on-one, kicks the ball up the park and the mad-puncher-of-the-face batters the ball into the net?  The referee would then have to use that goal as the break in play to send off a guy who's just scored a goal that he shouldn't have been on the park to score.

  6. Was a second yellow wasn't it? Refs often play advantage then go back and book someone.

It was.  But surely the same anomaly (somebody being able to influence the game when they shouldn't be on the park) exists whether it's a second yellow or a straight red no?

    Google tells me;

''When a referee applies advantage and a goal is scored, the player cannot be sent off but can be cautioned''

I guess that means straight red card and what you say is just one of those risks that has to be taken, it is highly unlikely to happen.

    Need PM to clarify.

As I say, I don't know the rule in it's exact form but would be interested to find out.

The only problem I can see is that the referee would need to know on the spot who he's booked and who he hasn't when the incident occurs (he can't very well stand and take his book out for a quick look before deciding whether or not to play advantage).

Other than that, it should be treated the same as far as i'm concerned.

  8. This is gonna sound reeeeaaaallllyyyy boring, but here we go.

Why did the referee play advantage for Spain's second goal when he was going to send the lad off?

If the lad had cleared Iniesta's shot off the line and the referee had waited for the next break in play then he'd have had to send the lad off after he'd prevented a goal for doing something prior to preventing the goal which would surely have been no sort of advantage at all?

I always thought that you weren't allowed to play advantage if you were going to show a red card for the foul in question?  Or does that only hold for straight red cards?  Or am I just havering nonsense?

    Can anybody clarify?

  9. That's right Wayne, have a go at the guys who've spent £thousands of their hard earned to go and watch you huff and puff and blow yourself out. How much of your own monstrosity of a salary did you spend to be there ya spoilt wee fuckin zoomer?

  10. We can get 2nd but I reckon we'll probably need to win all our remaining games and rely on Rangers winning the old firm game.  As good as we're playing I just don't see it.  Too much needs to happen.

I'll settle for 3rd and the Cup though.

  11. We absolutely must beat Raith Rovers tomorrow now.  We'll never have a better chance of winning the cup.  Two first division teams stand in our way.  No excuses Utd, please don't f*** this up  :frantic:

sincerely, I hope you win it mate.

Really hope so pal.  The "favourites" tag doesn't sit easy with us though.  We've lost so many finals to teams we should have beaten.  St Mirren and Motherwell ffs.  The only time we've ever won the Scottish Cup was against a Rangers team going for back to back trebles - those are the kind of games where we fancy it.

Anyway, i'll be decked out in tangerine tomorrow and will no doubt be thoroughly pished by the time I get to Hampden.  We should win and I think we will.
