will have been posted already but: Siem De Jong's agent has played down reports linking the Ajax ace with a possible move to Newcastle. Reports have suggested Newcastle are lining up a move for De Jong during this month's transfer window as they look to boslter their squad. However, De Jong's representative, Louis Laros, claims the classy midfielder is happy at Ajax and will probably stay at the Amsterdam ArenA. "There has been a lot of interest in Siem but at the moment he is the captain of Ajax, and he is happy at Ajax," Laros told Sky Tyne and Wear. "I expect he will stay until the end of the season. But you never know." that ol' chestnut eh

I think Gomis would really suit this league, seems to have power, a good strike and likes to get in amongst it. Seems to have a decent positional sense too.

Seems a canny player going off that youtube video, seems strong and direct. Will be a good squad addition at 20 years old, low fee which is good. Promising, even though we know a striker and a CB come first. As said by Pardew though, we're working on a few deals, so fingers crossed they come off. Though from recent quotes he prefers Italy to England, we shall see..
