  1. Every time this thread gets bumped I panic that somebody is making a bid for him.

I don't think you have too much to worry about, we've only sold players recently who wanted to leave or weren't good enough.  Enrique is loving it here so I doubt that he'll be going anytime soon.

Yeah, but we've had too much good news this week. I'm waiting for the sky to fall.

  2. Hughton will play the same side that started against Villa, as well he should. Would be great if Tiote were on the bench, but will probably be too soon.

I feel that we have a better side than Wolves and we must be building confidence. I optimistically reckon that we'll win this 2-1 or 3-1. As far as away games go, this is definitely one we can win.

  3.

I think Coloccini is better than Coloccini personally.

Today's Coloccini is definitely better than the demoralised one that was relegated.

Same goes for Enrique, Jonas, Nolan, Barton, Smith, Carrol, etc. This team would never have been relegated two seasons ago, imo.

  4. It's good we have choice for these areas, so when injuries and suspensions do set in we will have good cover.

This. With Tiote and Ben Arfa we have the luxury (when everyone is fit) of having options, which is a massive thing for us. When Gossling gets fit in January, all the better.

If we had another LB and possibly another striker of some quality, I think we'd be sitting quite comfortably in mid table.

If Ben Arfa and Tiote are both announced tomorrow, it'll be like Christmas.

  5. On the official site the other day, Hughton said that Tiote was coming in to provide competition for Smith's DM role. I'm sure there will be instances when they're both on the pitch at the same time, but based on what Hughton said, it will likely be an either / or on a regular basis.

  6. I don't get all the Nolan hate around here. He scores goals and he's clearly been a central figure in uniting the dressing room and bringing the lads together. Based on last year, he deserves his chance in the side and his role as captain, and yesterday he showed that he can be effective at this level as well. Obviously there will be games when he doesn't play well or where his lack of pace will get the best of him, but for the most part, he doesn't deserve the grief that some people would direct at him.

  7. Considering that our club said that our official bids would come with clauses that prevent any side from discussing it in the press, I would take his silence as a good sign.

  8. Jonas is fun to watch but also very frustrating. His crossing and passing is woefully bad for a winger. It's all well and good to run past the defenders, but you have to get the ball to your strikers or in the net. Jonas can't really do either.

I still love him, though. If he could just improve his crossing, he would be a dangerous player at this level.
