  1. I can see Spurs losing to Fulham. If we beat Everton, I think we have a decent shot at 4th place. But just to be in contention on the last day is a remarkable accomplishment and I'll thoroughly enjoy Europa League next year if we don't make it to the Champions League.
  2. After last summer's US tour, probably not! Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. I seem to remember it being an overall bad experience for them.
  3. I'm debating whether I'll take the short drive to see Liverpool vs Toronto. I detest Liverpool, but I do still have some affection for Enrique and wouldn't mind seeing him play.
  4. Just heard that Liverpool are expected to play against Toronto FC in July and it got me wondering if there are any rumours regarding NUFC's summer plans. Has anyone heard anything about whether or not they plan to return to North America this summer?
  5. Our final three games are tough, but they're coming at the right time. Chelsea will have come off a lot of tough games and could potentially be playing in the FA Cup final three days after we meet them. Manchester City will likely have nothing left to play for, and same goes for Everton. If we can get 4 or 6 points from the next two games and we're still in the mix, I think we have a legit shot at it, particularly if Liverpool knock of Everton and we know that we've already qualified for Europa League. It's definitely exciting times. Who would have seen this coming?
  6. I officially love this man. He's the player we've been looking for over the past years.
  7. It would be massive for us to qualify for the Europa League. I'll be very disappointed if things conspire against us and we don't get in. I understand why some might not want the extra games, but there are some great potential match-ups and it would likely help to quell all of the talk of players leaving which is bound to happen the second the transfer window opens.
  8. I don't think that he actually took a dive. I think he just fell over. But that's just my opinion. We'll never truly know what his intention was.
  9. Personally, I wish that Reina hadn't gotten the red card. He's going to be suspended for the FA Cup semi-final, I believe, and we need Liverpool to win it to get us into Europe with sixth place. I want Liverpool's best players out there, brimming with confidence. At the moment, I don't see them beating Everton, and that could mean disaster for us, depending on how the other semi-final and the race for 4th goes.

    Papiss Cissé

Everything about that announcement makes me happy. Well done.
  11. If he did come back, hopefully it would show Tiote, Ba and the others being linked away from our club, that life isn't always better on the other side. At the end of the day, if we could get him back, he'd likely be a decent player for us alongside Ba, so I'd be happy to have him.
  12. I'm really hoping we draw Boro. Seems too long since we've played them and it would likely be picked for tv.
  13. In previous seasons, when we were worried about relegation, I dreaded cup runs. This year, I want us to go for this. If we put out our best side every time, I don't see why we can't go far in this competition, barring an unlucky draw. Let's do it.
  14. It's too bad that injuries reduced us to 10 men and Chelsea were able to make the scoreline more unflattering than it deserved to be. Krul was magnificent as usual. Ben Arfa didn't look great, but I'm happy that he got more time in towards his recovery. Raylor and Obertan were liabilities.
  15. It's been a great first half for sure. Really enjoyed it. Hopefully this is the end of Ryan Taylor at LB, though. He's so obviously our weakest link.
  16. Unfortunately, I think you're right. Especially if Guthrie continues to perform well. I can see us offering him a new contract and taking a 20m transfer fee for Tiote. Ashley would think this was good business.

    Ryan Taylor

The man should have babies every week, if it makes him score goals like that. Outstanding.
  18. Delighted by the result. We obviously had to show a lot of heart to win that game with so many of our first-choice midfielders out. I'm chuffed that we have a break now to rest up for the next three matches. Hopefully we can get something out of them.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Going against top quality teams in the next three games, I really want to see Ben Arfa out there. Looked good today. Was obviously told to keep the ball and run down the clock and did just that.
  20. He's such a classy player and helped us out when we were in the Championship. I'll never forget when he scored the goal when his dad died. One of the most emotional moments I've experienced as a Newcastle fan. Also, I have to respect his decision to move for more playing time. I hope he gets what he wants. All the best to him.
  21. I love how many in the press had previously lumped this game into the "truer test of Newcastle's ambitions" matches, but now that we've won it convincingly, it's suddenly just the next four that fit in that category.
