  1. I guess, but are home addresses on the card? Maybe they are, but I guess my overall point is that this could have been avoided if they were a little better prepared. There's no real reason to wait this late to send a season ticket out, other than they want to sort out what advertising they want to send along with it.

  2. What does player List B on that mean?

Does that mean they are not eligible for selection currently and are just the list of reserves that we have submitted?

I guess that is just the provisional list for the qualifiers and can be changed if we make the group stages, but interesting to see Ferguson and Vuckic with *'s next to their names. (Sammy less so as he is injured).

  3. Mine's arrived...but at my parents house in Somerset. They're bloody useless - I put that address down for about a week a month or so ago when I was in between houses.

Hardly their fault if you gave that as your address and you failed to update them of any change of address though. They're not psychic. :fool:

You don't say?!  I regularly update my whenever I move using the online box office. The current one has been on there for getting on for a month now. Would be pretty difficult for me to be aggrieved at them for not sending it to an address that they didn't know existed.

It's not the end of the world at all, it is already in the post heading up here, but I just think it's a pretty poor show. If they're going to send them out this late then they should be using the address I currently have registered.

  4. Just got back from London hoping to find mine waiting. No such luck. Fingers crossed it will still get here by sat, but it's a pretty poor show given that they starting charging me for the bloody thing in February.

  5. Hi Sabri, it's Alan here...just a quick one to let you know Cheikh took a knock on saturday...yea that's right had to haul him off...no, no you're right he probably shouldn't travel, he'll be disappointed, but like you say, it's for the best.

  6. Not being funny, but he does often give the impression of being seriously injured and ends up fine. He was stretchered off in head support at Chelsea last year and was walking around post match. That's the power of  :tiote:

  7. Anyone who thinks Obertan and Jonas won't play has a nasty surprise waiting for them.

I have a suspicion Shola will start the game too.

I wouldn't mind Shola given his recent form compared to Cisse. Obertan is nailed on imo, typical of Pards to use the "lacking match fitness" excuse on the likes of Marv and Hatem. :(

This isn't serious is it?! I won't even bother with the first sentence.

Can see him using the match fitness excuse for Hatem unfortunately, but hasn't Marv actually featured quite a lot this preseason?

Also, hasn't Obertan been predominantly used through the middle in pre-season, suggesting Pardew is taking a look at playing him off the striker (like he did at Arsenal away and the mackem reserve home game) rather than as a winger?

Just re-read that now, some wrong things in that, sorry. I keep associating Marv with lacking fitness after his injury-hit first season, but yeah, considering the amount of playing time he had in preseason and the clear difference in class to Obertan I think he'll get the nod.

On Obertan playing in the middle, I think that's where I've seen him play best tbh. He was mint in his first game for us (Arsenal @ SJP) with his pace and height.

I guess that is where his pace is best utilised given that he seems scared to beat full backs and get to the byline. Perhaps in Euro games he will play there off Shola like he did today?

Obviously i'd rather see Hatem start, but if he doesn't, I am almost certain it will be Marv.

  8. Yea suggested that the attitude might not have been quite right, maybe because the 'big hitters' weren't in the dressing room. Said perhaps some of the players turned up and assumed we would win because we are a premier league side. Refreshing to hear him say that. If anything, may make him lean towards turning to Cabaye and Hatem in midfield next week.

  10. Some reports (e.g. the Independent) suggesting he was omitted from the latest France squad due to injury? Hopefully Ryder is right for once and it is just a virus or something that he can get over quickly.

  11. Yea, but then I guess that is natural given that Gosling is technically more senior than most of them. This season is make or break for Gosling's career here. I hope he does well personally, think he has been written off prematurely by a few.
