Exactly. Even assuming that Ba stays fit, we still need cover and competition for him given the extra games we'll be playing. we also need something else when ba and cisse are getting nowhere in a game.
-
A proven goal scorer who can bully the f*ck out of opposition defences and hold the ball up. I'd say every team could do with a player like that. Considering Demba Ba is a heartbeat away from the physio room, will be gone for the ACN, and may well be leaving for more money anyway, who else is there at the club who meets that description? Seems like a no-brainer to me if the price is right. When was the last time Ba got injured? A heartbeat away ffs Also they are more likely to miss out on the ACN considering they face Tiote's gang to get there. what chance would you give Ba and Cisse playing every game next season, I would give it Zero. About the same chance as your post having anything to do with what i said so you wernt making a point about ba's availability?

none, it was due to him being stronger in the air than thier defenders. whether you know this or not dosent change him winning headers

WTF? How many right backs do we have? How many forwards do we have? Seems pretty straight forward to me, there are other areas that need strengthening other than 'target man'. I reckon we need another striker, yes, but not 'AC9'. We need someone with pace, someone to change the game and to stretch defences. A Bellamy type IMO. We're still going to sign a right back, and probably a centre back. How can you say that with confidence? You really think we're going to spend 7 million on debuchy after splashing out over 10 mill on carroll? I'm not convinced tbh. Anyway, my point still stands, why Carroll? We don't need his type of striker. didnt pardew say in one of his live interviews thats exactly what we do need. I'm talking about what I think we need, not Pardew. I'm not worried about blowing our budget on one player, but I don't doubt that we do have a budget, and I don't fancy 10 million + of it being spent on Andy Carroll.

Joining us laterer

the addition of a long ball from the back to a geet big fucker up front to give their defenders something to think about even when we are pegged back shouldnt be ignored, its a great option to have in the squad.
-
I agree he couldnt reach them while Ba is away in Africa
-
how many of the people saying they dont want him, were also crying that we had no out ball when we were being out possesioned last season?
-
Could spend that money so much better.... Totally agree. name names
-
its fair enough comment. but im not convinced they will both be here next season, hope im wrong. Im fairly sure Pardew hinted in his live radio interview he was looking to bring in a target man as an out ball when we were under pressure, as he was using shola for. I also think he is probably the best forward around at this present time who is trying to get a move here, and that in mind we should take the opportunity if it is there. edit- i have a very good feeling about him and cisse. Im rarely wrong about these things.
-
He fucking deserved it as well for the way he celebrated that goal when he came off the bench. End of the game, whole Gallowgate was singing, "Alan Shearer, you're a wanker, a wanker!" remember calling him all the greedy bastards from the milburn paddocks, he was just a few feet away, turned round and just laughed at us.
-
Went for gutted for continuity's sake. Disappointed's a better shout if he does return. why you always gutted? i would have thought, i was gutted he left,id be happy when he returns makes more sense tho.
-
we get the picture you dont like him btw.
-
why you always gutted?
-
It's all very well and good saying that, but who should we be signing? exfuckingactly. gotta get whats there not some imaginary person who is better.
-
things not working out for cisse, or ba, we struggling to hold the ball up, game not going our way? Hoy big AC on and fucking batter them for the last half hour.
-
if they pull it off it will be one of the best things thats happend to this club since the last time something canny good happend. ( couldnt think when)
-
you cant simply say that, theres so many knocks, missed games , the I word im not typing, the african pot, loss of form. endless reasons why you cant just say they will be our starting two- im just hoping they are still here for ferking starters.
-
Because he's only suited to play either in a 4-4-2 or in the centre of a 4-3-3 (which is our best formation IMO). There aren't many strikers in the world I'd move Cissé for, and Carroll certainly isn't one of them. Cisse playing off carol knock downs could be f***ing devastating. That would mean Ba isn't playing though, and Ba is twice the player Carroll is. We have a whole european campaign to play as well as FA cup and league cup games. Our fixture list next season is going to be massive. its almost beyond belief that a fan of this club- the fucking problems weve had down the years, dosent understand the need for more than simply a first choice forward line up.

dont understand peopel saying they dont want him back. It we keep Ba/ cisse he will be an excellent addition. If we lose one of them, he will be an essential replacement.

It was obvious at times last season we missed a target man to take some of the pressure off us. In fact a few time shola did this and we looked much better. this has got to be behind pardews thinking. talk of looking for deeper players., or putting him on the left is missing the point tbh.
