  1. Sorry but it is never a red card. Do you really believe that Coloccini has tried to do him and missed by accident? Give over.

 Pardew shouldn't have commented on it post match. Should have watched the 1000 different angles that captured the challenge before making a comment, in case we had a case to appeal.

  2. If you think Coloccini went in with intent you can fuck off tbh. Imo if he meant it, he wouldn't have missed. Need to see the replay from different angles, but it looked like he thought Suarez was going to turn with the ball to his right and tried to pre-empt the turn with a block.

  3. They are a p*ss poor side and gerrard is spent.

I disagree. They are a better footballing side than us. Suarez is world class and virtually unplayable at times. Sterling is already a top winger in this league. Allen dictates their tempo very well and both there centre-halves are excellent. There is a spine of a good side there.

    :anguish:

  4. Few thoughts from my (admittedly not exactly neutral perspective):

Thought bar the first 10 minutes, Liverpool were fairly s**** first half. You looked happy to contain them and of course the massive bonus came with the first real piece of quality from Cabaye and it's job done at half time.

You however did what we tend to do, and especially at Anfield; And that's drop deep, give them too much respect and just allow momentum to build up.

I thought there was also a very noticeable difference when Cabaye went off. IIRC it was just after they scored and what you needed was someone like him to keep the passing going but it just didn't happen, offering even more impetus to Liverpool. The goal was, begrudgingly, great play from Suarez but what I would be left thinking from that is the godawful pass (Anita?) just before which gave the ball back to them.

Wasn't a red, but equally not sure why Coloccini had his boot raised like that. Seemed daft, and not at all in line with 99% of his play.

Ben Arfa looked dangerous and I was impressed with Ameobi when he came on.

The impression I get is a few would have taken a point before the game but it really did remind me a lot of us. Get in front but instead of trying to build on it, sit back and allow them to come onto you. I really don't like this mentality of assuming because you have more players back it guarantees a better chance of not conceding. Quite often it'll work the other way because you're not necessarily as organised, players aren't sure who to be marking, and things become increasingly frantic and desperate. Moyes has a habit of doing it and I was reminded of us while watching the 2nd half.

Also, what a cheat Sterling is. Shame, as he looks a talent but he's been diving just as much as anyone. And for him not to get anything for his tackle and Coloccini to get sent off? Give me a break. Any semblance of refereeing consistency which remained is fast going out the window.

Top top post. I'm seething less now having read it. Always balanced, always knowledgable

  5. At some point I started feeling that the piss taking and reveling in their misery was going over the top. How mistaken I was. These tramps have become nothing but a rabble of twice-over used tampons. The biggest cheats in English football. I sincerely hope they implode and disappear into oblivion.

And as for that desperate little racist cockroach Suarez, karma is a bitch...

  6. The amount of possibilities with this set of players should really be about how versatile and unexpected we can be. Not how one dimensional and predictable we are.

We've had loads of players playing in different positions and nothing has looked good. I know a lot of us are really pro 4231/433, but despite not playing that, I now think that if we did we still wouldn't look all that good purely because of our players' form and our general lack of movement.

    Excellent post

  7. He gets crowded out enough when on the wing. He has to be at his absolute world-class best constantly when teams stick three men on him (who wouldn't?).

That would happen more often in the middle. He'd be wasted there. He needs to be high up the pitch on the right-hand-side (a la the 4-3-3) to be at his most effective.

But when the central front 3 are as lethal as ours, the opposition wouldn't know who to mark. Cisse and Ba would still keep at least 3 of the back 4 busy in those areas. It all depends on a well drilled attacking plan set out by the manager and coaches that revolves around intelligent movement into the channels etc..

Messi is the most marked man in world football, and plays central most of the time. HBA has the same skill set in that he is able to dribble out of tight situations and release a quick ball into a dangerous area. All it takes is a split second.
