I think Leeds will be fine too, it's Brentford we need to drag into it by beating them
-
Fortunately for Leeds they are playing a crap Spurs side
-
After playing Man-U we were 4 points from safety and having played 2 extra games. We were 5 behind Leeds having played a game more We are now out of the bottom 3 and if Burnley win their game in hand then we are only 1 point behind them. We have a game in hand on Leeds and 2 on Brentford. We are in an unbelievable position when you consider the context. I thought we would still be at least a win away from getting out of the relegation zone so we need to remain positive. I think by Saturday evening it will be a bit clearer as to how many clubs are going to be very much in it until the end.
-
Good finish by Elanga that, defending was a bit shite
-
Yep, I can see City slipping up at the weekend too
-
Nah, not really, certainly not a battering I think Burnley will win by 1, which as long as we win then it's not disastrous
-
Hopefully Palace batter Burnley at the weekend
-
Burnley picking up 6 points in 2 games isn't ideal but this is still very much in our hands, that has to be the key focus I reckon if you asked the clubs at the bottom whose position would you want to be in they would mostly say ours
-
It was inevitable, knew the City result was an anomaly
-
Another class delivery from Lodi, Atletico hit the bar, unlucky not to have made it 2-0
-
Good one, though not fussed about that game, convinced Liverpool will beat them Wouldn't be too bad if results stay the same, though Spurs somehow not being shit would be useful
-
Think the cross came from our future left back
-
Atletico take the lead, brilliant header that
-
Tbf it's not that much of a shock really In the relegationometer thread I mentioned that Spurs have been shite lately, the Man-City win is an anomaly, their style suited the vulnerabilities City have I expect Burnley to get a result, I would be surprised otherwise
-
Salah scores it, 1-0 to Liverpool
-
Penalty to Liverpool
-
Because I see that result as an anomaly They have a decent record against City and I think they have the right players to play in a way that City can be hurt (Arguably Kane and Son are the best attacking pair on the counter attack) I hope I'm wrong but I can see them dropping points to Burnley today
-
I certainly agree with the last part, whilst I do pay attention and want those results to go our way but ultimately it's pretty much in our own hands I think the the games tonight and the weekend will start to give us a good idea as to which teams are really going to be involved to the very end
-
It's not just one result, they lost by just 1 goal to Liverpool and drew with both Arsenal and Man-U So them getting a draw/win against an out form Spurs* isn't inconceivable *I don't pay too much attention to thr City result, prior to that they lost 3 on the bounce. Plus the way they set up and hit on the counter fast works against City. Can't play like that against Burnley
-
Obviously all 3 losing would be perfect but I just can't see it I think Watford will win, Burnley get at least a draw and Liverpool will beat Leeds

Already started, he said something about not having much to change with the injuries they have -

He mentioned in his interview how 8 of the remaining 13 games are at home. He won't be doing anything from a training, analytical or tactical perspective, he's pinning his hopes on winning games at home. -
I agree it's not a priority as it's hardly like loads of other clubs will be in for him, especially at his reported wage Giving him a contract could be with a view that in 12-18 months time we sell him and get something back for him
-
I'm sure we have well over double figures in the current 25 man squad that counts as home grown so don't think we even need him for that And if we plan on moving a number of them on then may as well let Dummett go and then make sure to sign a homegrown player
-
Shelvey and Schar have shown to be more than useful under Howe so them getting a new contract makes sense Dummett if he wasn't always injured wouldn't be bad to have around but we know he's guaranteed an injury It could as someone suggested just be a tactic of Howe to ensure the squad is united until the end of the season I like Dummett but him getting a new contract isn't a sign of progression
