  1. He'll not start Ritchie. All he needs to do is get Lewis playing to the level he was playing for a relegated Norwich City. I'm pretty sure even I could do that. No surprises Cabbage Kebab couldnt. But your right if he doesnt play Dubs, Lewis, Fernandez, Shaar/Lescelles, Manquillo, Hayden, Longstaff, Willock, ASM, Wilson and Miggy, or some variation of, there'll be questions rightly.
  2. Yeah this is it, like. Course there's some disappointment in me that we didnt end up with Ten Hag, or Favre, Or Emery etc. But our next step up from where we're currently at is nothing more than enjoy the club again, enjoy the games, try and compete and be here in the summer. All of that is going to be work enough. I'm looking forward to it.
  3. TIL Victor Moses plays for Spartak Moscow. 1-0.
  4. Cant believe this has only been done now.
  5. Oh aye, no doubt. And we pretty much only have 11 players good enough to start. Maybe 12. The team picks itself, or it should. No idea how no one seems to have since Rafa. We need to get that team playing every game, and performing to their best level. Its not a huge ask and I dont think we have the capacity as a club atm to attempt more. It might be uninspiring but I think Howe is equipped and experienced enough to do that. Even with any other manager I wouldnt expect anymore than still being a PL club at the end of the season. So I'm not going to expect more of Howe either. After that, though. That's when things change.
  6. I get the fear, but that bit in bold is just not true. Not if your basis for comparison is his Bournemouth team. Man City or Liverpool levels absolutely not But we have the individual quality in a full 11 too be better than 3 teams in this league. In an attacking and defensive sense. If we have a manager with a semblance of tactical nous. I'm under no illusions, but I'm also quite open minded about the job he might be able to do. It's not like we have many examples to draw on, he's managed 1 team. But he was able to produce very good results with very little resource. It'd make more sense, imo, to apply that logic to his appointment, because ultimately he over achieved.
  7. I suppose if its the law, then fair enough. You cant be allowing players to straight up ignore the referee when theyve been called multiple times. Then gesture towards him. Football's bad enough for dissent from players, if theyre willing to stamp out blatant disrespect I'm for it.
  8. So Felipe got a straight red for dissent?
  9. Only reason I can imagine theyre not sold on Fonseca would be his style of play when we're 2nd bottom and shipping goals at an unprecedented rate. Not that that's a line of thinking I agree with but it's the only thing I can think of.
  10. Ando posted in here on the Weds I think when the rumours online were already circulating. I dunno, but from all the whirlwind that went on in that first week it's hard for me to come to any other conclusion other than Stavely and Co had no clue the week prior that they'd be in new jobs running the club day to day by the following week. They were ready for the hearing in Jan. Why would they be planning and sounding out appointments if they didnt even think they were going to have decision to make this year. Christ probably not this season. If at all.
  11. The takeover was essentially mothballed by the sounds, like. Its not been ongoing for months. All signs point to this thing pretty much starting up again when KSA and Qatar solved the piracy debate. Then 3 days later we had new owners and chair. And that was what, 4 weeks ago?
  12. How long is the recruitment process for a DoF typically do you reckon? I'd have probably guessed months, usually.
  13. You have no idea what's gone on. All you've done (as we all have) is read differing reports about different things from different people. All in 24 hours. You have no information what so ever.
  14. We're after a European standard manager, at least, for very potentially Championship team. This isn't an easy sell at this stage. If it was end of the season and we'd stayed up by the skin of our teeth but were getting a new man in to build and start a new season, I doubt it'd be this difficult. But we're asking top rated managers to take a couple of weeks to decide to uproot from where they live, abandon a project they're doing well in (otherwise we wouldn't be after them), be confident in a plan with to execute in 2 months, with all the difficulties that surrounds that and negotiations with whoever and get an awful team winning games. With awful facilities and no backbone of staff ready to work with. I think a lot of people who havent paid as much attention to NUFC over the years due to our awful owner don't seem aware of the scale of the task at hand here. And how it can very easily be turned down by whoever we might fancy because they're already in a very cushy place. Id be disappointed with Howe given the excitement and dreams of what we could possibly achieve, but at the same time, we're not too big for Eddie Howe right now. Far from it. All thee managers we'd be excited about are well out of our league. We've only got rich owners. We're not a rich club yet. We're awful. Everywhere. How do you convince Emery or the likes to come and train our players on our training ground all with such uncertainty. I'm not saying it's impossible to do so, but all these people bemoaning the new owners saying they should have had all this sorted are completely fanciful imo. It's the awful online football crack you get on Twitter. No clue. This is all going to be very difficult. Dont want Howe. Dont want Lampard. Dont want Gerrard. I mean I dont really either, but as NUFC fans if we're going in to all of this with that level of entitlement we're fucking idiots. 4 weeks to completely transform a multi million pound organisation, man. Unreal.
  15. I think he's back, tbh. And he's brought friends!
  16. If I was an Arsenal fan and they replaced Wenger with Howe I'd be furious too
  17. I mean, that's just not true at all. How many players or managers have turned down moves publicly?
