Dunno mate. Sounds like you made a hasty judgment quickly and under pressure (that it was cheating), then when you were given time to consider the evidence and come to the right conclusion (that it was incompetence) you decided that your own laws forbade you from going back and changing that judgment so you let it stand.

didn’t go anywhere near the comments. There’s a thread on Spurscommunity about “what other fans are saying about us”. Some of the stuff on RAWK is just…wow.
-
It’s precisely what me and KI said waaaay back in the thread. And as I pointed out at the time, if you do that and it goes wrong it is dangerous play. That’s the risk you take, and the key point is that the risk isn’t to you but the poor sod who might have his ankle broken. If you try to put your foot over the ball to control it the chances of putting your studs into the opponent’s ankle/shin/knee are pretty high. We’ve seen it a ton of times. Then when the opponent is quicker to the ball and actually plays the ball which is the point of this fucking game then he stands a significant chance of being injured. It’s dangerous play. It bugs me that we have to have this conversation.

They mentioned it on a podcast yesterday. I believe it’s the one thing they can appeal (not the yellows or the offside) so they’re probably just hoping that they get a sympathy vote.

Not to him. Only Jesus is what he had tattooed. I’m treating that as, er, Gospel.

Mudryk a fan of “Only Jesus” I see. The Father and Holy Ghost will be miffed.

Right lads, anyone up for us winning the title on goal difference from Liverpool? Imagine the fallout. Just me?

This seems a pretty good summary: https://www.football365.com/news/sympathy-liverpool-huge-limitless-sporting-integrity-statement-absurd

I love your phrasing…as if Norman bit his legs and he bit the dust. RIP. Tbf, I don’t want to look at his face now (anyone old enough to get that?)
-
Yeah, the European Cup semi-final v Benfica in 1962 with the bent refs please.

I love the end of the statement: “In the meantime, we will explore the range of options available, given the clear need for escalation and resolution.” You pompous fucks

Faintly ironic that the existence of VAR has actually enabled the Liverpool whinge-in. No VAR means offside and no goal. Got into an argument intense and rewarding discussion with my (Arsenal fan) plasterer this morning who said we should give Liverpool the three points, we should be ashamed to celebrate etc etc. Won’t bore you with all the details but his initial argument was that if the goal had stood then Liverpool wouldn’t have gone down to ten men and would have won easily. I’ll leave you to spot the flaw there. We can all play this game. One of my responses to him was that the Nketiah tackle should have gone to VAR and I would be pretty confident of a red if that happened. You could argue it was a failure of the VAR system and thus the game should be replayed with them down to ten etc etc. Most Spurs forums have had the post up showing the McAllister tackle on Tanganga, Jota kicking a standing Skipp in the head and others. We can all play this game. It was an egregious and inexcusable mistake. Agree totally with Pilko or Tron or whoever it was who said it should be a dedicated VAR team. Just…fuck me this last couple of days have been boring. And I stress, anyone asking me to have any sympathy for a Liverpool fan over this beyond “yeah, it does suck” is asking more than they could possibly know.

I could probably do this all night. But I won’t. Because we all know, and using their own phrase, “This is Liverpool”.
-
Main the gave the first yellow was that he knew he should have given him a yellow for an earlier tackle.

Wife’s sorting it out. Month or two ago we were in Newton-by-the-Sea. Think this is a bigger house somewhere near Bamburgh. I like the idea of South Shields v Blyth Spartans tbh. A chance to show them Newcastle too.
-
It’s only when rewatching it that you get the full force of Klopp’s cuntiness too. Just like Arteta, he could so easily have been at least booked for going walkabout.
-
Enjoying watching this again much more . I’m up to 60 mins. Don’t think we did much wrong tbh. Alisson was amazing. Wish Richarlison was a bit less…limited as a player.
-
Liverpool are really good though. If they could cut some of the fouling out they could run Citeh close
-
Oh and to be clear, the free kick they got to set up the passage of play for their goal was a terrible decision too and should never have been given.
-
Agree. It was insane what Fabinho got away with, and everyone knew it. I’m 50. If I hear one single Liverpool fan anywhere in my vicinity complain about refs my laughter in their face will echo through the generations.

I thought it was like the Chelsea one. I’d have given him a yellow and a final warning. Could see both. Like you said at the time, it looked like he was kinda doing that thing where you step over the ball to shield it, and Bissouma was too quick. And that’s the thing. He was too quick. And if you do that sort of tackle, and if you’re late, it (a) looks horrible on the replay and (b) is dangerous play. It could so easily have completely fucked Bissouma. And the other thing is, it’s not a coincidence that they keep getting reds. They play this way - little cynical fouls, leaving a boot in, being a bit reckless. I’ve seen McAllister make a couple of really questionable tackles, and Robertson genuinely seems a nasty piece of work. It’s just that they got away with it most of the time…and today they didn’t. Goes around comes around. It’s just taken ages to come around.

Just rewatching the game now. Going to count the cynical fouls and yellows that the red didn’t give. Just got to the bit where Diaz elbows Romero clean in the face.

We’re at the build them up to knock them down stage. Ange has had a truncated off season and most of one transfer window. We weren’t expecting anything this year and were actually trying to make sure people didn’t get on Ange’s back when we lost a few games. So far we’ve had a relatively easy start to the season and also had a few breaks. It won't last. They’re overreacting now, and they’ll overreact when things go awry. It’s what they do. I will say that you’re wrong when you say we’re not at all what we’re being built up as though. We’re really good, man. Short in maybe one position. The big issue is the drop-off when we make a sub, and at this stage of our transition that’s a minor miracle and very encouraging. We’ll work on that over the next couple of windows.

Good idea, my wife wants to check Durham out too.
