s***, I love Lee. One of my favorite players in the Premiership.
-
That purported Real Madrid interest for Adebayor is pure fantasy, imho, don't think he will get better offers than Spurs or clubs around their level.
-
I big you up all the time and you continuously s*** on me. Nah i'm well aware Mata joining us it unlikely to say the least and i do agree that it's a backwards step for him. I'm aware you can probably better Valencia's wages easily, mind. But Valencia will give him CL football more often than not, and if it's true that the likes of Arsenal are in for him, he can hold out for a club like them.
-
Talk in Spain is that Mata isn't interested in Spurs though. Would be a backwards step in my opinion (sorry kd). Adebayor wants off City, Spurs would be decent for him.

Hércules lost a preseason trophy by a coin toss... after 32 penalties were taken and each and everyone was scored

First time I heard it I thought they meant the player had hit the post. "turnover" is a favorite of mine, such an americanism. Sometimes I use it to annoy people.
-
He was a big prospect, but injuries ravaged him. Hope he can carve himself a career and realize some of that promise.
-
Spain has yet to play in the U-20 WC, but it seems we have saved our best players for the U-19 EC. How in hell are they playing both tournaments at the same time?
-
ManU - FCB tonight in the USA. Looking forward to it although we'll still be South American-less and probably Xavi-less. Most ManU "fans" I have friended on Facebook are writing about how their "revenge" is coming. Ah yes, you can win an idiotic friendly, we'll keep the cups.
-
He's one of our biggest prospects, highly rated. Should be playing in our B team this season.
-
He's way too good for that league.
-
Up until last season, when Valencia finally passed them, Athletic (never call them Bilbao in front of their fans, by the way) were the 3rd best team in the all-time La Liga table, behind the fearsome twosome. They also have won 24 Spanish cups, which was a Spanish record until our treble season. They haven't been too successful in Europe, but they are really big in Spain.
-
I like you but spurs are no better than Bilbao? honestly? Yes, but not by that much. Both teams will realistically aim for EL football this season, although you can legitimately challenge for CL, but imho you have to expect one of ManCity/Arsenal/Chelsea/ManU to fail spectacularly and Liverpool not improve too much. As for "history" Bilbao have won more silverware.

Footballer wages are always reported after taxes in Spain. You have to take those into account. €40k week net * .44 (44% being the top tax bracket in Spain) = 17,5k (aprox) €40k take home + 17,5k taxes = €57,5k gross = 50k pounds/week gross (aprox) Footballers surely don't pay full taxes on all their pay, though, the tax-dodging buggers.

Talk about that seems to have died out. Mou is looking for a striker of his kind to give himself more options but Pérez wants the next striker to be a Galáctico signing and Neymar seems to be the chosen one.
-
Every time I have read something about Arnautovic, it's been about his discipline problems. Regarding Pedro León's wages, he's on €2m/year net. Some napkin math says that means around 50k/w.
-
Why do they all cross themselves? That's mental. I certainly ask for divine protection every time I order food from some places.
-
You're being linked to Llorente in our press. Yes please altough wouldn't they want in excess of 30m? Yes, they don't want to sell and his release clause is €36m. He only has two years left though, and his contract talks are stalled.

They have signed Camuñas from Osasuna, who's likely to be Cazorla's replacement. He was pretty good last year and could be a smart pick. César from Valencia too, but that's going to be just cover, and some kid from Málaga who's probably going to play in the B team. They have shipped a lot of players too: Altidore, Montero, Capdevila, Marcano, Cicinho... wage bill should look much nicer.
-
Footballers advertising food products they are probably banned to eat, always a favorite of mine. Not as great the Blackburn one, mind.
-
Ah yes, that's also a reason they can deny you entry. A friend of mine was rejected because of a $200 disputed phone bill (and it ended up that he wasn't liable). America...

There will be a late night run to the nearest golf course to borrow their flags no doubt.. Seriously.. how can we have this many visa problems in one month? US authorities are thoroughly picky about allowing entry to people with criminal records. Kluivert had to sit out our US tours for example. What was Cabayé's reason to be denied a VISA though? Has he had any sort of legal problem?

The Canales loan to Valencia has been finalised. It's for two seasons and Valencia have a €12m buyout clause. Very good move for him.
