Maybe. Inevitable all the same.

Ten Hag was challenged about that. He said he didn't have the players to play the same style as he did at Ajax. He did successfully implement a high press and our final third turnovers etc. were among the best in Europe. Not sure what his plan was for the gaping holes in midfield though.

I mean, they absolutely are sound, but are we going to try and suggest Brummie hasn't been smug since Villa started flying? A bit more quiet this season mind.

Oh just you wait until we're good again.

VAR feeling bad about all the decisions against us this season. Clear red that for me. Fucking hell that was boring.

In the last week or two I've read on here how Arsenal are title challengers and how great of a job Arteta has done because he was given time (less trophies than Ten Hag). I also read how Howe has taken you as far as he can and it's time to move on. Now Newcastle sit 3 behind Arsenal in the table. I love how quickly football can change.

That was us trying to help.

You won't find many who admit to it anyway.

Ten Hag was a good appointment as well. Who knows how these things will go.

Obviously a bit tongue in cheek. People keep trying to act like INEOS are tight because they're streamlining payroll to a level similar to City and Liverpool, but truth is they've met whatever release clause or fee that has been requested by all selling clubs, with the exception being the utter nonsensical £20m stance for a sporting director. I think the vast majority of your fans know you handled the situation poorly. So all I'm saying in response to your point is, the compensation money was likely always there, but Newcastle negotiating the way they did meant you received a much lower fee than you should and could have received.

Sporting had a release clause and we paid it. You made up a silly amount to try and play hardball and it backfired and you ended up getting a fraction of what you demanded. Sir Jim played PIF like a fiddle. He obviously has a lot more respect for Sporting as they never tried to play silly buggers. Fia-te na Virgem e não corras. Bem-vindo Rùben!

Can't wait to see Antony leave.
