Did you read that before you posted it ?
If so, what did they do wrong that stopped us from winning the league or getting into Europe ?
Well where to start. Didn't start Tino and Hall when both Trippier and Burn were throwing points away like confetti. Bought Tonali and then couldn't play him for most of the season. Ran the players into the ground leading to an unprecedented injury crisis. Still relied on Wilson to back up Isac. Bought Barnes who we didn't need. Started Miggy at RW. No plan B on the pitch to mitigate the fact that we were unable to play our normal high press aggressive football. We wouldn't have won the league but we should have qualified for Europe.

How much did VVD cost Liverpool ages ago? I remember most people thinking it was a batshit crazy price at the time.
VVD turned out to be world class and transformed Liverpool helping them win the league and champions league. Hopefully Guehi will do the same for us......

So in your opinion the club didn't know what it was doing when they signed Trippier, Bruno, Isak and Gordon? You don't think they've proven to be quite astute signings?
Good signings for sure. When we win something we can happily say the club knows/knew what they were doing, until then we can only hope they do.

It's less than 3 years since Steve Bruce had us at the foot of the league, free falling towards relegation, with the club having no plans, no hope, and no ambition.
Your post isn't harsh, it's clueless.
I'm not talking about the last 3 years, but about the last 55 but you knew that.

It' about time we changed that to we only demand a club that wins something, anything at all really. Even the much diminished league cup will do.
-
I'm sure signing Guehi will improve us, it's whether it will improve us enough to get us back into Europe this season. No europe again will mean a lot of changes at the club and a lot of them we won't like.

For once? They've barely put a foot wrong since they got here?
If this was true we would have won something and would be in Europe this season. Harsh maybe but true nevertheless.

For the price reported, he'll need to be pretty much world class from the start and imo he's not at that level. Whether there will be any money left over to buy a new RW seems doubtful as well. Hope for once the club knows what it's doing.

Anybody be surprised if Tino and Hall are on the bench?

And you don't think that's the coaches instructions?
I doubt it or Pep wouldn't have dropped him.
-
Well he hasn't coached it out of Doku who is always trying to beat the defenders on him. Grealish doesn't even try anymore just passes it back to the fullback

Pep to ruin all of Eze's flair like he ruined Grealish's
Not sure it's Pep's fault that Grealish is afraid to try and beat his man anymore. That's on Grealish.

I think the BBC has us finishing 9th, which would mean goodbye to Eddie, Bruno and maybe Gordon and Isac. Hope not.

Raphinha
Apparently he has no interest coming to us, he'd be too expensive and his wages too high. Don't think he's realistic.

We can get better than Madueke on the right hand side if we have got the Guehi money to play with...
I'd like to know who?

I've been going since the early 70's and most of the time the ground apart from the location has been varying degrees of nasty. How serious the Saudi's are in making us a top class club is about to be revealed.
-
Anyhow to get back to Guehi, although in general he was good for England, he did look like he might have the odd Titus moment and was lucky he didn't cost England a couple of goals. If he signs for us hopefully I'm wrong.
-
The problem was giving him a 3.5 contract extension. Not sure who signed off on that but it should have been a sackable offence.

Probably sell Richarlison to Saudi for 60m next.
He's already said he doesn't want to go, good on him.

Irrespective of PSR, we have to become much better sellers in general, moving players on for reasonable money before we get stuck with them. Adding the 3.5 years to Almiron's contract recently, who comes up with shit like this? Man City just sold Alvarez for an absolute fortune despite the fact that he's really not that good, that's smart business. Nothing smart about what we are doing or we wouldn't have Trippier, Targett, Fraser, Almiron, Lascelles, Hayden, Dubravka, Lewis, Ashby, and another 25 goalkeepers taking up squad places and getting paid obscene amounts of money for what they contribute. Work smarter not harder.

I was hoping this thread would get binned into the other 19 one, but apparently Froggy needs his own personal thread to engage with MUFC infatuated Newcastle fans. Pretty pathetic really. And yes I realise I've just posted in here and no I won't be doing so again.

Before the transfer window closes this is the biggest lottery out there. Prefer to wait.

Oh to be a member of the infamous NO clique, drink the cool aid and never ever be wrong or actually have doubts that the club doesn't always know what it's doing.
