They'd be absolute trillionaires rather than just piddly billionaires if they were quicker. Idiots.

I mean it’s all down to their stunning intellect, rather than the fact their entire country is an oilfield obviously

Delap had a genuine chance of making World Cup squad if he made the correct move, but I just can’t see how he starts regularly enough (and performs as a result of coming in and out of a mixed side) to get Tuchel attention.

Just screams, “Club open to loan move” in January.

At this point it feel like they’re acting like the Old Firm north of the border, just hoover up all players who might be good in order to stifle competition. They honestly should’ve been nailed to the wall by the PL for the irregularities found from Roman's era, never mind the shit they’re pulling now.

I’d love to know the story behind the Bruno/Botman/Isak signings. Whatever that strategy was it’s been long abandoned.

I guess it’s significantly easier to get players that would improve us when we were sitting 19th in the league or had just finished 11th, than it is when we’ve secured CL football 2 years out of the last 3

Hate the fact hat alot of players today are not arsed if they don't play.. it's all about the money

Dunno about you like, but I’d quite happily double my money to do less graft

I stopped listening to the tripe because when they don’t have much to say they end up just being massively overly negative, just to fill up a podcast. I made the mistake of signing up to their patreon and it was unbelievably negative, was right after Mandy and Mehrdad left and dumped them so they were cheesed off.

They were the same last summer, it’s just reactionary bollocks. They did a podcast claiming the Suadi's had lost all interest and were going to withdraw their investment after Ashworth moved on, followed by an episode a few days later declaring they were all back in big style after Mitchell was announced.

There seems to be an absence of anyone in their roster of presenters, capable of taking a step back and looking at the big picture. I guess it's just the content creator way now, everything is either utter terrible or utterly brilliant, god forbid something might be somewhere in the middle. But I guess that doesn’t work for engagement, so we have to live in made up binary position world, completely devoid of nuance.

Needless to say after several weeks of not making it through an episode due to the negativity, I binned off my Patreon subscription

How does Dalglish get off scot-free without a mention? He ruined us as much as anyone.

After reading Keegan's biography I wonder how much of what Dalglish did, was down to the board and the move to the club becoming a PLC. Certainly takes some of the vitriol away for me. I don’t imagine swapping Ferdinand for a geriatric Rush was exactly what he had in mind, if it were all down to him.

According to Ryder both Spurs and Man U are "ready to swoop" for Mbeumo.

Man U put a first bid in for him a couple of weeks ago and its pretty much a done deal at this point.   The fucking idiot

There's been a load of media reporting about it having stalled due to his wage demands, and unless I’ve missed something it’s not been confirmed yet. I’ve definitely seen plenty of rumours about Spurs being interested, especially since Frank became their manager.

Surprised no one's going for Omari Hutchinson, only 21 has looked deadly for England today

I imagine it’s because Ipswich would want a fortune for him, they bought him for £22M last summer

  9. What makes it worse is they'll have no self awareness around the fact that the way they treated Trent will have affected how some players see them too, particularly if they ultimately see themself at a true European Giant at some point.

Do we not fancy looking at these types first before loaning out? Get a gauge of where they are or even if they might be useful for us even now? N'Zogbia hadn't even played senior football when we signed him, and was a regular in the squad within 3-4 months

That is true but let’s be honest we were a pretty terrible team at that point, same goes for Perez and even Bassong. I’d hope we aren’t in such a position again personally, let the kids come in to a properly firing and functional team when they’re actually ready.

It depends. Eyes can deceive sometimes. I’m sure many on here or in fanbase in general fawn over Ginola rather than Robert as easier on the eye.

However I’d have Robert over Ginola everyday of the week and I think his figures would back that up.

Charles Nzogbia has more than twice the number of goals for Newcastle that Ginola has, so I’d bloody hope so

Is this not because we're waiting until the end of the current PSR period though? (So, the end of June)

(Still disappointing in comparison to others, mind)

I wouldn’t have thought so as even if we bought someone of the first of June only one month of Amortisation would’ve affected this years PSR calculations

I'd love to see that, the 'Mediocre Performance Podcast'

"Yeah I get up at 8.10am, got to get to work for 9.00am, I usually just about make it on time if the red lights on the main road are in my favour. I make sure I get the triple chicken sandwich in my meal deal because it's better value for money that way"

You been listening in to me in the office? Although the cheese triple is a banger too 🤣

one of me best mates is from blyth and there's one or two "Burty" stories he tells.

I've said it before but all the Bedlington lads of my vintage, who played to a decent level, single Jamie out as the best they’ve ever shared a pitch with by a large margin. And given how good some of those were, that’s no mean feat. Alex "Disco" Lawson, will rave about him any chance he gets

Not sure where I read it, quite probably on this forum, but some were saying Clark being dropped for Batty was just a big factor (or bigger) than the Tino signing as to why we didn't win the league.

We all have 20-20 hindsight but I agree with this line of thinking, Batty added more defensive solidity, but we lost a lot of creativity when Clarky was left out
