They are quite cosy to be fair, I "lived" out of one for 6 months back in the day 😂

The ones in Thumrait in Oman I lived in for several months at a time, were a touch warmer than cosy if memory serves me right 😂

Would have had Darren Bent in ahead of Defoe for starters. 32 goals in 58 games is mustard for that shitpile club.

Think the fact he scored the goal that sent them to the third tier and then celebrated like fuck (deservedly) may have influenced that tbf

  3. Have we played a clubs youth set up in a final yet? FFS they needed penalties to beat us in the same competition when we could only field 11 players.

So all I can take is you think they’re a luckier club than us, but they still failed to win. So by all means mate keep shouting at the clouds if it makes you feel better

Basket case club who still came closer to winning something last season than we’ve managed in about 50 years.

Eh they got to the same stage we did the year previous and couldn’t beat Liverpool's youth team. Give your head a wobble man

Trips was tripping over his own two feet when he needed to defend on ball, and his head was in the clouds off the ball. Botman was an absolute shambles, although he has the injury justification. Schar was defensively abhorrent for long stretches, despite the odd effective defensive performance. Burn was alright defensively, to be fair.

Dubs has been used as a kind of scapegoat, which, fair play, the backline is chock-full-of fan favorites. And it stands to reason fans won't want to be critical of first team stalwarts. A common refrain was that the back line performed so poorly because they had dubs' limitations in the back of their minds. To me, that's ridiculous post-hoc reasoning.

Botman is, in effect, a non-factor for next season, and Schar is a year older. Think we'd be much better served paying a pittance for an unproven, young, non-domestic keeper hungry to prove himself (in the event Pope goes down for another long stretch), and getting a legitimate center half who can improve our first team. Upgrading our backup keeper isn't getting us from 7th to 6th. The teams that finished ahead of us will be upgrading their first XI, and we should follow suit if Europe is our true aspiration.

Do you think the fact that the whole defence had to play 10 yards deeper to accommodate a keeper welded to his line, who goes down in slow motion stages may have also been a factor too? Dubs coming back into the team changed the way the whole team was set up man. If you couldn’t see that clear as day with your mark 1 eyeball in real time (not post-hoc), I dunno what to tell you

I was under the impression it was extremely underwhelming before the injury. Definitely read a Swansea forum saying he was a waste of a signing.

I'm pretty sure he'd scored and assisted a few, but the few Swans fans I met over the years have always been an odd bunch

I don't know but my guess is there are attitude problems with him.  As your link shows, he's consistently highly rated, and bits I've seen are seriously impressive. But somehow it never works for him, now with multiple clubs and managers. I get the impression he's cocky as fuck, which might play a part. I wonder if he might be a late bloomer, maybe play a big role for a team that gets promoted in 3-5 years.

Was it not going well at Swansea until he suffered a major injury?

  8. I tell you what, there’s one upside of yesterday's result. It makes it a hell of a lot easier to decide who to whack on the ignore list ?

Entitled because I want to see my club win something, behave.

Everybody wants their club to win something, expecting it 30 months after a takeover of a hollowed out club on its knees. Having to deal with new financial rules designed to maintain the current status quo, isn’t just entitled it’s fucking deluded.

Not mention we got to Wembley last year, and the quarters of both domestic cups this year; despite very cruel draws. I mean does it look to you as if the club isn’t trying or something?

Can see us “doing a Botman” and signing people on 1 July.

It literally means we could sign people before then and it having minimal impact on this years accounts, providing with have slight headroom in this years figures to do so.

    We'll see.

I doubt you will, you’ll have moved on to something else to piss your pants about by the time he signed for anyone.

I'm not super disappointed to not play against Vejle, AEK Athens and some Kasakhstan team, but no Europe will add unfounded pressure on everyone next season. It's a blow for us for sure.

It'll also reduce actual pressure on the squad though no? We can’t be as unlucky with domestic cup draws next season either surely

Nah, not a fucking chance, all fucking paper talk. They might be at risk next year, but they will likely be able to fudge some money around and get away with it, like the hotel deal they have just got away with.

Have they got away with the hotel thing? I thought the PL we’re still yet to approve it

    You disagree?

Would you sign for Man Utd currently, given you don’t know which manager you’d be playing for?

Honestly, I don’t know how some people on this forum function day to day. The level of negativity and anxiety about everything outside of their control must be crippling

The website can’t cope with stuff that’s out of stock after you put it in the basket. It can’t tell you which item is out of stock and just says can’t ship.

It’s not always that either, had a scenario about two weeks ago where it would give me shipping options for both items individually, but said no shipping options if both were in the basket together ??

I don’t like Man U anymore than you do. I loath us losing millions, when we are already financially constraint so much. to supposedly get one over them though. My point is I don’t understand why people seem to think this whole ordeal is somehow a positive development for NUFC, when it clearly isn’t.

Who is saying it’s a positive development, other than maybe in the long run, given Ashworth's apparent flightyness?

I would certainly say that it’s significantly worse for Man Utd from an optics perspective and probably financially too. If nothing else I’d imagine there’s been some conversations from City these last few days about them covering Berada's gardening leave wages plus interest, given he is apparently using an Ineos email

We're also disrupting a rival teams plans as well, for balance.

I'd pay a couple million to do that.

This ? lest we forget we paid Burnley £25M for Wood for similar purposes
