we’ll have lost a top tier DoF, who we paid millions for to acquire his services not long ago, and who we continue to pay a million or so in wages for another year and a bit while having to look and pay for a new DoF. We’ll be out of pocket by a good few million compared to had this whole thing never happened. That money would have been much better spent out on the pitch.
I think you’re also underplaying the value in spending that money to show we are no longer a pushover myself. I think paying his wages for a few months (FWIW I think he'll be in position at Man Utd in September) is a worthy PR exercise to reinforce this point IMO. -

Yeah, happy for him to be somebody else’s cunt and not ours!
This is it for me, it’s kinda like if you start shagging someone who was seeing someone else at the start, you can't get bent out of shape when they do the same to you later down the line. One the day the penny will drop for those Manc fuckers, that even when they were successful, they weren’t the biggest shark in the tank of global football.
Wonder what Man Utd secrets he'll happily pass to Bayern, Madrid or PSG if he is successful there and they come knocking?

My normal go to for that sort of thing is Emerton or Boa Morte. Convinced we were signing both of them back in the day.
You mean both their desiccated corpses aren’t still in the Gosforth Park Hotel? ? -

Out of interest for the older fans, was there any kickback in 83ish when the badge changed to the NUFC logo with the magpie?
Or when we changed from the NUFC badge to the current one in 1988/89? It's not as if the current is exactly old. As someone else has pointed out its probably younger than most who post on the forum.

The copium on Redcafe regarding this really is a thing of beauty too.
the number of them who don’t get the seriousness of Berrada working for Ineos whilst on gardening leave and Ashworth leaking contract and compensation details to them, is a sight to behold ?

Is he really that good with his feet though? I distinctly remember him being specifically targeted by our press, particularly by Miggy in the 2-0 home game at the back end of Eddie's first season here. He had an absolute 'mare that night if my memory serves

A fully fit Willock is an able deputy for him.
They’re completely different players with entirely different characteristics surely? A fit Willock is a useful player no doubt, but he doesn’t replace the physicality lost when Big Joe is out of the team at all -

I think you are right. Ben Arfa is probably the most talented footballer I've ever seen play for Newcastle.
I loved Ben Arfa but in terms of overall ability to influence a game he was nowhere near Peter Beardsley. I know it’s a cliche but he gets criminally underrated because he wasn’t foreign and is an ugly bastard. -
Think a few in here need to pay this site a visit, Jesus wept ??♂️

Honestly think if he’d been fit alongside Pope for the second half of the season we’d be challenging the top 4 places again. The difference they both make to our team is astounding. So with that in mind the club really should be looking for a youngster with his profile to deputise during his inevitable suspensions

Would a Europa conference run help our coefficient for getting more prize money from the Champions League etc?

I think he’s great- I just don’t think he’s a 100million player. I don’t think someone would pay that much
sorry for not having the sheep opinion on something that’s subjective
Well neither Caicado, Fernandez or Rice are worth £100M+ IMO either, but that’s the value their previous clubs put on them. And if someone else wants to buy Bruno it’s what they’re going to have to front up -

Aren't each age group a year ahead? U16 playing U18 etc etc?
That was how someone described things a while ago, particularly after the list of who was being released came out

So wished we had him!
We tried to loan him in Eddies first January here, if I remember right -
Honestly can see Brighton having a bit of a bounce myself, things had gotten quite toxic with DeZerbi at the helm these past few months. Would be really good if it started today mind

Dhgate ship to the UK but the official club shop cant ship to my location! All this fuss about about revenue aswell
I had this last week if I tried to add multiple items to my cart. If I ordered them separately so that I had to pay postage, miraculously they could deliver to my location ??♂️ -

When was the last time we had a keeper this bad that played more than half a season of games?
Darlow in the end of Bruce/Start of Eddies rein? -

I wish they would put more games on YouTube. I know this is at St James’ but other clubs manage to put their league games on. Would be interesting if we keep investing in exciting prospects like Harrison
Especially knowing it’s being recorded for analysis purposes anyway. I honestly thought the club would be expanding their online presence more than they have done, even if it is still light years ahead of the Ashley era non offering -

If you say that in cobham you will get a limp worsted southern slap. Cobham is not London, it’s the heart of Surrey.
Ok a large quantity of land in the South East of England, within easy commuting distance of Landon is worth mega bucks. Happy Now? (Everything south of the Tyne is France to me tbh)

Either way, how do you actually realise that value when there's a training ground on there? Either you own a training ground but don't own a football club to use it, or you own some land with a training ground already built on it. Surely the point of fair market value is that an individual, company or business not associated with CFC would also see the same value in the asset?
I'm not arguing with you that if the PL allow this to pass it makes an utter mockery of PSR. But there is also no arguing that a large quantity of land in London is worth mega bucks

The Fair Market Value thing I can understand with a hotel, obviously is an ongoing source of income etc. that has value as an asset to a person or company other than CFC. But the training ground? How is that worth £100m+ to anyone other than the football club itself?
Is it the actual facilities, or the land they're situated on which gives them their £100M value?

Outfield yes, but I'm wondering about a keeper. A young one maybe, one to be 3rd choice, given Karius is off.
Suspect Dubravka will be off too tbh. Think his agent has been hawking him around since January. Can see us going for someone not terrified to come off his line to compliment Pope in case of injury/rest in Europa Conference etc

Anyone else having issues ordering stuff? Just tried tonight and it comes up saying no shipping option available, regardless of the address I use

Bad England
His job requires him to be trustworthy and have impeccable integrity, given that his fingers will extend into every aspect of a club. Those things are hard to earn initially and even harder to earn back after you’ve proven yourself to be lacking in that department previously.
