They will finish above us. You certainly have a lot of faith in Pardew.
-
Depends, If we have to stick with Pardew for another 7 seasons lol I would have no problems with players like Barton, nolan etc in the team. They suit Pardew's game and like some have said they are effective for that style. Carroll on the other hand I think there is a place for him in a lot of teams.
-
I agree. Lol so funny , the thought of a Pardew team mastering passing and movement We can't even do the basics of those two fundamentals.
-
Looks pretty good That's a horrible side. I like diame however. Horrible? They're all effective other then Downing. Jonas is effective if you need him to run all day.
-
They are all massively average bar maybe Carroll Certainly safe from relegation, that team looks like a Pardew wet dream.

Looks pretty good

Yeah I meant it that way but was terribly vague...my bad. classic = vintage = standard 90's style = classic big sam team. I agree
-
He's in no rush , if bigger bids doesn't come he can still sell him to us near deadline day.
-
Classic ? Don't know about that, for a 90's team . Yes.
-
That team will destroy us, cant wait to see Pardew try to out long-ball west ham lol

Yep, keep Gomis in the transfer news to attract bidders. tbh he deserves Gomis' agent fee, he's done more work in trying to sort out the move than they have. By the sounds of things he doesn't like us much either, so yes he's hoping someone else will bid with 5% on top. And with the window closing nearer and nearer, teams/ bidders will get more desperate. Yes they will but not as desperate as him imo. He's already acting it. Well we have shown we are more than willing to wait for the next window or the one after for certain players regardless of how thin certain positions are. We are clearly not as desperate as he is.

Aulas and team gomis clearly hate each other. He just making the remainder of gomis's stay at Lyon as uncomfortable as possible. Be it only 3 weeks left of it.
-
If we want to sign players just because they are better than our s*** ones we deserve to be fighting relegation tbh. Think about that for a second We deserve to be fighting relegation for giving Pardew an 8 year contract.
-
Rather stick Marveaux out there.
-
I do but not for the silly prices we are willing to sell at.

Think that's a fair assumption actually, although Cisse aside none of those deals have ever come off. I definitely think we're as tight as we can be on wages, agent fees, etc. and that we'll know pretty much exactly what we can afford to do window-on-window. However, as you say if something popped up to us that we could make work if it meant going outside of the pre-planned limit then they'd go to Ashley for the green light. January was that sort of thing, but was a bit of an anomaly due to our precarious position in the league. I think there is a bit of an issue where after a season or two of highly successful, uncontested scouting (Cisse, Cabaye, Tiote, Ben Arfa) other teams now monitor our transfer moves quite a lot and compete for our signings. This causes problem when our approach to transfer negotiations are always getting the right price regardless of how long the negotiations take. Sometimes we need to have enough sense to offer that extra bit of menial money (1 mil or so) to get the transfer across the line before other teams get involved and the market value for the player rises. I honestly do not believe teams specifically monitor our transfer moves. We simply go for some decent players, no surprises that others are interested in decent players for good prices.

(I'm not saying he was btw) A Japanese playing for probably the biggest team in the world is obviously going to sell shirts, but you don't buy the Bundesliga player of the year to sell shirts We should really try and sign keisuki Honda. Free and 27. Good player can play striker and in the hole and sell shirts Oh forgot he dont play in France so our scouts know nothing of his existance.
-
Agree with this as well, it's a lazy sort of assumption like the "trousering" one was. The one positive so far has been the fact we've kept players since Carroll, which shows that they have begun to recognise a player's value is not just in what someone else will give you for them. Ashley has done well overall to be fair. But he's showing signs of falling back to his old ways of making monumental cock ups like keeping Pardew. That in my book is worse than hiring JFK as DOF.

Its quite clear he's not the one stopping the deal from happening, the agents are. Its not as easy as if he wants to come to sack them either before anyone says anything there are legal complications. If it was simply down to Gomis and Lyon this deal would have been completed ages ago. I thought it was the sell on fee. That 5% Lyon and nufc does not want to pay to St Etienne. From what i heard its both.... they want us to pay the sell on fee and there's the agent fees as well. that's a 'no deal' then.
-
come on that doesn't mean its anymore chance of him coming to nufc. This Aulas is the one thats stopping this transfer.
-
yeh but we still have Cisse, and Taylor and Colo etc who are suppose to jockey and try to win the ball from set pieces and such.

No need for that Pardew. he could had just pointed at JFK. -
odd really, he really does love his excuses, because he really didn't need to. we will all blame JFK anyway.
