  1. Meanwhile Ashley's laughing his cock off at you. Money for nothing. He does what the fuck he likes, even when it deliberately makes the team worse, and you keep piling cash in his pocket for it.

You cannot criticise people for going to the match - everyone has their reasons for going, some taking their kids, some it's a form of escape (good or bad) from daily life, others (like the guy I sit next to) have been going since the 70s - it's in his DNA to go.

I honestly don't believe he would care if attendance figure dropped as the TV is that much these days.

What I think he would/does care about is bad publicity - he even dragged himself in from of a House of Commons committee to defend himself.  We need coordinated protests - in numbers - like Liverpool fans did.  It needs to make the national press - not the likes of the Chronicle for him to care.  And it needs to be constant until he's gone.  And stop shopping at SD in Northumberland street.

  2. I'll take him as a squad player but lets face it he's no replacement for Merino - lad is going to be a Spain regular come next tournament.  He was class on his day. He's an upgrade on Collback mind so i'll take that

  3. In two minds about a boycott, it would hurt Rafa just as much I think.

What happened before was after years of terrible football on the pitch and excuse after excuse by that snake oil merchant managing the team.

We can hardly say that’s the case now, our team give it all on the pitch and they deserve our support.

A boycott wouldn’t hurt Ashley financially as we’ve sold all of our season tickets. They’ll just report the tickets sold figures.

Like someone mentioned here before.. a protest holding everything up outside his warehouse would make national news and effectively interrupt profits for a time. Occupy SD?

    That would get his attention.

The real question is, which of you daft fuckers would actually go all the way and carry something like that out?

Agree with all of this tbf

What does a boycott (with Rafa still here) achieve? Like you said the ticket money is gone anyway. Is it a form of protest to let Ashley know we want him out? Cause he sure as hell knows that already and doesn't give a flying fuck.  Hurt his business and he'll take notice

The boycott would only impact if people (and large numbers) had not renewed so absolutely no point whatsoever going down that route now.

It's all about the negative attention. It's pretty clear it pisses him off when national media picks up on it.

This ^ and it's pointless boycotting unless we do it on mass.

  4. £30m a year man

plus outgoings you'd hope. Merino + Mitro could be another 30 this summer alone

Burnley's net spend was -£9m (spent £35m) on players last season, Everton £56m, Leicester £35m, Palace £31m, Bournemouth £11m, West Ham -£21m (spent £38m), Watford £47m

£30 Mil will include sign on fees, wages - so that really equates to £10Mil to spend.

But that aside - this whole business with the stand off is easily resolved - give Rafa the cash, let him have control and he'll sign.  He wants to stay but who in their right mind would trust Ashley. Clearly imo Ashley has no intention of giving Rafa control or he would have already.

  5. If they are using £10k to hit Sports Direct by holding protests outside the distribution centre so they can’t do deliveries then it’s a good idea. If it’s £10k to produce a few ‘cockney mafia out banners’ then they can forget it.

As much as I hate seeing stores close on the high street - I would love to see people stop buying from the Sports Direct store - it's free and it's a statement.
