  1. It's for like 14 games. So much s*** being talked about over this, like. He chose to go home, whether you would do the same is up to you, but this whole 'picking Pardew over Rafa's idea is just something people are making up to direct the blame where it doesn't belong.

As I’ve said before - he could buy his own helicopter, live in Birmingham and fly to Newcastle every day in less than an hour. He had no trouble living in London, Manchester, Bolton or Liverpool.

It’s a load of s***. As I posted on the previous page, it’s more likely that we were unwilling to pay his wages.

Would make the most sense - it is hard to believe Ashley would sanction paying a player £125,000 a week.

Absolute gob smacked he'd choose West Brom over Newcastle - he'd be guaranteed First team football at Newcastle - can't say that at West Brom. Clearly no ambition to play regularly more being close to home.

You're kidding. He's one of the best strikers in the league when he's available. Absolutely no doubt that he starts for either team.

That's a slight stretch - I'd put him in the top 10.  But back to my point - he's got more competition for his place at West Brom - Jay Rodriguez for example looks like he's finding form.

  3. TBF, and I can't stand VAR, even in the sports that use it successfully the same issue exists. Hawkeye only covers particular courts at Wimbledon for example.

Same - am surprised so many pundits are in favour of it as it kinda makes them redundant - nothing to debate.

  4. No, we are not business people, but don’t forget he’s had free advertising at our stadium all these years. R93W, Gateshead.

Well, I can see you are not a business person, RW, or you would appreciate that it isn’t free advertising, because he could sell the space Sports Direct occupies at St James’ Park to an outside company. So there is a cost, and even if the projection is better value than it could be taking out similar space elsewhere it’s certainly not free.

    wat

    Exactly lol

“I don’t think Ashley claims to know the football business. I think he’s quite shocked by it actually,”

“I, too, had a chance meeting with him, in the directors’ box at Watford, and he was also very frank about the problems facing Newcastle and the mistakes he has made."

“One of his observations is that football is unlike other industries. In any other field, as he sees it, if you put £90million into the business, you see direct results of that investment."
