  1. These once great Eastern European clubs are as confusing as f*ck. West Ham currently playing a FC FCSB, and there's another Steaua Bucharest in the league below - no idea which one is which Also in the Bulgarian top flight you've got CSKA Sofia as well as CSKA 1948 Sofia.
  2. Hopefully Sociedad hold on to ensure Man Utd have a couple of extra matches that they won't want - very likely to be against good opposition as well.
  3. Barclays Manager shortlist Mikel Arteta (ARS) P5 W4 D1 L0 GD+9 Arsenal began the month with victories over Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, going through the month unbeaten and dropping only two points, maintaining their place at the top of the league. Pep Guardiola (MCI) P5 W4 D1 L0 GD+9 Guardiola's Manchester City side started October with a thrilling 6-3 derby win over Manchester United and kept the pressure on leaders Arsenal with four victories from their five matches in the month. Eddie Howe (NEW) P6 W5 D1 L0 GD+13 Newcastle United were top scorers in an unbeaten October, scoring four or more goals in half of their matches, including a 4-1 triumph at Fulham and a 5-1 home success over Brentford. They returned more points than any other side in the month to move into fourth place. They've managed to get that wrong. Man City lost to Liverpool, so their October record is W4 D0 L1 , not W4 D1 L0
  4. Has to be Eddie, surely. Eddie W5 D1 L0 Arteta W4 D1 L0 Pep W4 D0 L1 More wins for Eddie, but also, Arsenal's draw was vs Southampton, ours was at Old Trafford.
  5. Milan vs Salzburg is a direct shootout. The Austrians need to win.
  6. Spurs now currently topping the group after Frankfurt equalise in the other match.
  7. I'm watching on the BT Sport app so about 45 seconds behind, plus had to make sure it actually was Mbemba
  8. Lots of familiar PL faces in the Marseille side - Bailly, Mbemba, Sanchez, Tavares. Payet on the bench.
  9. Looking forward to the Spurs match. That group is so tight so bound to be a fair few changes in standing throughout the evening. Definitely watching that tonight over the Goals Show as there is very little riding on the other groups. I guess it's a long time until 4.30pm Sunday, and had they have been playing Thursday evening instead then it may have been different, but Liverpool have gone far stronger than I was expecting for an almost dead rubber (famous last words...) There can't be any positional changes in the Bayern-Barca-Inter group.

Modern day Sunderland legend alongside Quinny, Sewpa Kev, Bally, and er, Nicky Summberbell?
  11. Devon derby is a good watch. 2-2 after 57 mins. Bali Mumba, ex Sunderland, has just equalised for Plymouth. Exeter twice ahead, but quickly pegged back both times.
  12. Interesting League One match on Sky tonight. Plymouth vs Exeter, Devon derby. Quite a fierce rivalry apparently. Plymouth are top and have 32 points from their last 12 matches which is insane, whereas Exeter can close in on the play off places with a win.
  13. Must admit, I proper cheered that Leeds goal. They were great, and I was hoping they would have seen it out to get a well earned point, but wasn't expecting them to get a winner at all. A very enjoyable match.
  14. Did Boyd say that's Wilson's 5th penalty this season?
  15. Got a bad feeling about today for some reason. It would definitely be 2 points dropped, especially at home, but I'd probably take a draw to keep the unbeaten record going.
  16. Just stuck Sky Sports News on and saw the 'breaking news' - I'm not sure if that same news would have been breaking news this time 12 months ago, or even 2 months ago.
  17. Well before my time that , but the 1996/97 was my first proper European campaign. I can vaguely remember parts of the 1994/95 one when we played Antwerp and Bilbao, remember watching the 3-2 home win in the spar room, but would have only just turned 8.
  18. You can't actually watch Graz vs Feyenoord on the BT App, restricted to 6 matches including 4 involving UK and Irish teams, so I've opted for Ferencvaros vs Monaco - two teams that we faced in the 1996-97 UEFA Cup (Ginola goal vs the Hungarians). Quite a tight group as well with Ferencvaros currently top, perhaps surprisingly. Not sure how long I'll watch for mind, but it's on at the moment
  19. I was quite pleased that both Spurs and Arsenal need to approach their respective final European matches next week in a normal manner, hoping they would have been playing someone near the bottom of the table in their following PL match, and subsequently drop unexpected points, but the play Liverpool and Chelsea respectively.
  20. Arsenal will still be massive favourites for top spot, and may well finish top (and avoid an extra tie) even if they lost at home to Zurich, but they will now have to approach that game as a meaningful one, whereas had they drawn here, they could have done what they live after sealing the group. Anyone watching a particular match later on? The 8pm matches involving English clubs don't look that interesting, and minimal jeopardy, so may actually have Graz vs Feyenoord on in the background, as that group is ridiculously tight.
  21. Never heard of this 'Brian Hill' before, assumed he must have been a local coming through the Spurs academy
  22. Watching the Spurs match and I swear BT Sport just have the same adverts on loop, that gravlax one and Dominoes pepperoni passion one must have been on about 10 times each already
