  1. Again. Value. Why do people watch it for free? Because it's not value for money to them. If Sky didn't charge through the nose they would have more customers willing to buy into their packages. The providers always think defeating piracy is a means to more customers. Shutting down streams just has a new one open up. Fix it by offering a value for money service with better features, ease of access. £33 a month for Sky Sports on Now TV is not vfm. Just look at how long they are all holding on to this HD is extra ££ bullshit. It's 2020. HD should be standard by now. Totally agree with this but it not a means to more customers - its about holding on to their existing. For example my parents do pay for SKY to watch a couple of games. IF cheaper alternatives were more reliable and easy to view then they would obviously rather spend less money. No one makes money by spending it. If IPTV etc is technically tougher than other sources then the simple route is just to pay. There is a degree of hypocrisy here though. The majority want SA to own the club in order to become competitive which equates to spending money. Why do you think that Newcastle is even on SA's radar? Its because of money and sponsorship. That is the entire attraction. If the Premier League wasn't about money then Serie A / La Liga would be one their radar. You cant have best of all worlds.
  2. I think not paying is a bit of a non-issue really - probably makes it worse and I think Colos point is right. Piracy is Piracy and it turns out we are the victims. SKY is a huge amount of money to an individual but the reality is that they pay for the league and the players within. If more and more people watch games without paying something then less they can invest. They have to make it harder to pirate as the easier it is to avoid paying the more people will.
  3. It happens now and then, nobody says anything for ages, the board is seemingly in harmony, and then so total nutcase pops up out of nowhere and spouts a completely contrary opinion, claiming to be a 'realist' or whatever, and then f***s off after a couple of days. I think Dave's paying them off in an attempt to spice the place up a little. It is a bit funny seeing the entire fleet of the forum swivel their cannons in unison at the lone dinghy and sink it Yep hilarious, I'll stay and discuss or go away if you would rather? Either way my opinion is still that of a fans - which you'll dismiss as one who's on drugs I imagine You might be a fan, you can stay if you want but you'll have a hard time debating Ashley's merits on here, because that debate has moved on. If you had any new or interesting evidence to challenge the almost universally accepted wisdom that Ashley's stewardship has been awful, then fair enough, but you dont. It is like restarting a debate on autism/mmr - something that had been discredited years ago, which was occasionally dredged up and given credence to by idiots who have no new evidence for their claim, other than 'opinion'. Nonsense. That's were I am being misinterpreted, 10yrs ago I would have hated MA and I don't agree with his principles now. It's a deeper rooted problem in the new age though. Who would you rather as a chairman? Glazers? Kroenke? Lerner? Kenwright? Aside from Man City and Chelsea no-one is happy and the majority protest. Who would you rather have as an owner? I'd prefer all of those bar maybe Lerner Fair enough - and I probably would prefer a couple also, The point is though that if you asked those fans then they would also want rid. They have all protested enmass.

  6. Yep, I'm not sure deliberate is accurate though? Do you think we intentionally lost? Do you guys honestly think some guy with no prem experience is the answer? I'll put it a different way - instead of complaining about me what's your 5 point plan? Well you could try rebutting some of those points raised by Wullie in that post if you really want to have a debate before asking for his 5 point plan. "I'm not sure deliberate is accurate" isn't really much of an answer is it? I've lost what Wullies question were?
  7. Not my intention, If you can let me know what I need to do though to have an valid opinion about the club - I'm interested
  8. That's pretty offensive. Good luck with life mate if you can relate a discussion around a Newcastle manager with holocast deniers. I have an opinion as a newcastle fan for over 30yrs around who I would like to manage the club. I want the best and see the Mainz manager as a risk. I would rather see a manager with experience strong enough to aim for a cup run. Who do you suggest? Do you understand English? Jaqen didn't deny the Holocaust, another ex poster did. And experience has never been a quality a manager needs for a Cup run. For instance, John Sillett won the Cup in his first full season as a manager. But a manager does need an ambitious board behind him not one who have publicly admitted that Cup competition has no value for Sports Direct and indeed also said that successful Cup campaigns make you vulnerable to relegation because it happened to Wigan and Birmingham. Never said he did - to compare me to one though is offensive. See my point earlier though - we aren't the only fans to dream of a cup run. That's why I would like to see a greater prize at the end. Not many clubs aim to win the fa cup and to me that's tragic
  9. Should have been dragged around Auschwitz/Birkenau by his bollocks. Might have improved his education. Been to both actually and Mathausen, Still not sue why it's relevent?

  11. Agree 100% until they make cups worthwhile then why would any owner bother? If love to see someone come in who would concentrate on cups - not sure a foreign boss is the answer. Hence mclaren as my choice As McClaren doesn't seem to be a choice any more who do you want? I'm wondering how low you would go before you want a foreign coach. Don't care foreign or not, Eddie howe would be ace
  12. Been wondering how that was done for yonks!! cheers Kanji easiest 5 step plan in the world Beats an actual debate eh?

  14. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/73/Winners_Dont_Use_Drugs.png Not even sure what this means? I think the implication is you were on drugs when you made that post or have diminished cognitive abilities due to sustained drug use over the years. Thanks, I haven't. Just thought other opinions may be valued. Be nice if a different opinion on this site didn't draw abuse but discussion instead. That's the thing: the issue was discussed to death and collectively, the majority of us, moved onto a more logical, rational place, together. It's like civil rights or gay marriage. If you don't participate in the public dialogue when the struggle is actually going on, and then come by swinging your dick 2 years after saying "oh hoy hoy, what's all this gay marriage malarkey? marriage is between man and woman! why can't we just discuss this?" People will laugh you out of town. That's what you're doing right now. Collectively on this site. Not collectively as a fan base.

  18. Agree totally, Although the problem isn't unique to NUFC - how many clubs want their owners out? TBH - im not fussed about 150mill spent on players. I'd rather see the players i care about given a chance. Sissoko got stick about a year ago and now he is indispensable apparently. For me the only way to make english football great again is to give a CL place to the FA winners. That will force chairman like MA's hand.
  19. This is very terrible. Its got the lot. The holy trinity: deluded, Leeds and pitiful acceptance of fans not having any say whatsoever. Genius. It needed a Portsmouth for a full house but not a bad effort. B+ Long time lurker and even longer fan but i agree with these points. Why does any fan think they can change MA? And tbh - why would they? Simple question - what do you guys want? I agree ambition in the cups would be my no.1 but aside from that i would rather him as an owner than 90% of the other owners. I'd love ambition but realistically there is a limited amount of people who can spend unlimited money on players these days - Man Utd try to win the title and spend £150mill or so and are still no-where near. Football has lost its soul and we aren't the only fans suffering. PS - my choice for manager - still Steve Mac. Top coach and will get the best out of our youngsters which is the one thing i still enjoy most. You should go back to lurking. Fair enough. Just wanted to give a different opinion from an equally passionate fan if thats not what a discussion is about then i apologise.

Can't believe it's been this f***ing easy for t***s like MA to get all the simpleton fans to think that all they can expect of a team is to exist. What the f*** is the point in supporting NUFC if this is the case? What the f*** is the f***ing point. Meh - no need to get angry and call me simple. What other team is different? Its how football is these days - at least we have exciting talent like Aarons. There is a point- its supporting a local team. The biggest pride to me has been seeing our players represent their countries and i hope our new manager can help develop local talent.

  22. There is an excuse - Tavernier. Europe was an unexpected surprise this year but have people not learnt that killing ourselves to win it is dumb? Look at the teams in it and ask yourself how much would it cost to win and this is before the CL teams join. Teams haven't spent much money this year - despite Tottenham trying to spend money today its because they sold Modric. We could spend 30 million if we sold Tiote/Cabaye but tbh i would rather keep them and build on last year. Even Everton have had too sell to buy. This is the reality now - not just for us but for everyone. Money isn't everything. Ask yourselves so far who has been the most promising of the new signings? Anita or Bigi? For me Bigi and he cost very little. Last year was the same. Nolan for Cabaye seemed mental but it wasnt. I would so much rather be in our position than Liverpools or Arsenals.
