  1. Defence getting a lot of credit - and rightly so. It has been our stronger hand, after all, and we've now won five PL matches 1-0.

However, it is also worth noting that we've scored in all but one of our PL games in 2018. Our upturn in form up front has been good to see.

  2. West Ham have some nasty fixtures with the exception of Soton and Stoke at home. Playing two fullbacks with a combined age of 70 isn't gonna help the cause.

Unfortunately West Ham also have six out of their last nine fixtures at home. They should get nowt hopefully in their remaining aways though.

  3. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if we drew with Southampton and Huddersfield and everyone accepting our Doom, only to then beat Leicester and Arsenal, before beating West Brom. Whether we pick up the points where we should, or using the NUFC method, I think we'll do it.

I agree this could happen. We would be under so much pressure though, and surely in the bottom three if we don't do well in the two home games this month.

  4. Aye, it wouldn't be totally game over. We'd almost certainly be in the bottom three, though (with Spurs (A) at Wembley as our game-in-hand). Would be making it just about as difficult as we could.

  5. The rest of March is stupidly vital to survival hopes especially with its bizarre three-week gap:

    10th  Southampton (H)

    <Gap of 21 days>

    31st  Huddersfield Town (H)

    6 points - We'll be fine

3-4 points - Decent return but more work to do

    1-2 points - Will be a struggle

    0 points - fucked

  6. Just turned on, went back on iplayer to watch, and to me looks like a clear red. Reminds me of Cabaye's tackle from earlier this season that only got a yellow, I was at the game and he flew in with such force it was ridiculous, that should have been a red and this imo is definitely a red. You can't go in like that on another player.

Aye, if he'd actually caught his standing leg with that force (he was close), it would have been pretty ugly.

  7.

    Dead sport.

We didn't even need VAR for that.

Just Keith Stroud who incidentally has just ruled out a good Bristol City goal to give them a free kick on the edge of the box.

Dont think VAR would be  useful there, especially as Bristol City play tomorrow.

Haha. Good point - I meant Cardiff of course. Bristol are playing the mackems actually, I think.

And, aye, I know VAR wouldn't have helped there. Personally, think it will be beneficial in the long-term but three-minute waits are just stupid and ridiculous. Hopefully, in the long term, VAR can prevent Keith Stroud from striking again though. It's a genuine wonder how he finds his way outside of his own front door.
