Why does a loan coordinator need an assistant.
Should only be a temporary role.

Looks like Dan Ashworth has got his hands on a PS5.

We should see if we can do a leveraged buyout, use Burnley's own money to buy Pope. Gets round FFP.

I'd bet everything I have in my rabbits Cayman Islands account that if 'arry got the fake sheikh treatment you would uncover all sorts.
Could probably solve the cost of living crisis by clawing back all the missing tax. Although I don't think the BBC has the resources for the amount of episodes it would take to cover the whole thing, might be one for Sky Documentaries.

It might actually be the thumping we need, daft as that sounds, as short of sacking him (unlikely and not needed right now) then sometimes you need that kick up the arse or watershed moment that can hopefully lead to change. The recent performances have been awful and it doesn't do the team any good limping from one abject display to another.

Back in the olden days, there were a variety of match-ups for the Charity Shield (and predecessors) before it settled on the League Champion v FA Cup winner format we all know and love.
If the game was instead a match between a Premier League North v Premier League South all-star type affair, who would you have in your teams/squads?
For the purpose of this, based on the season just gone, this is how North/South would be defined:
North
Aston Villa
Burnley
Everton
Leeds United
Leicester City
Liverpool
Manchester City
Manchester United
Newcastle United
Wolverhampton WanderersSouth
Arsenal
Brentford
Brighton and Hove Albion
Chelsea
Crystal Palace
Norwich City
Southampton
Tottenham Hotspur
Watford
West Ham UnitedWhat starting elevens would you have and maybe, say, five subs?
No restrictions on the amount of players you can have from a single team.

I'm good mates with Mel who owns Okkulo. He's NUFC daft and approached the club a while ago well before the takeover but they weren't interested. He's since been in contact with the new owners and they are interested and he's hoping to strike a deal with them before too long. He's in the States at the minute hoping to tie up a deal with New York Red Bulls.
Ah nice, that's really good information, thanks for sharing!
I'm not surprised one bit our illustrious previous owners declined their services but with things like this, it's certainly reason number one million and seven why we're in such a better place now. I can't wait to see how this progresses.

Sorry to derail but there's a segment on BBC Click right now about a technology company from Newcastle called Okkulo where they use shooting and goalkeeping target practice under a range of different lighting conditions, starting in normal light before gradually getting darker, to improve accuracy and anticipation, etc. They reckon our perception of movement and time changes under different lighting and so this has an impact on how a goalkeeper could react to a shot or a striker can anticipate where they'd receive a ball or to improve their shooting, all boiling down to muscle memory perhaps.
Anyway, as it's a Newcastle based company, of course our neighbours are fully utilising it in their training methods. I know there are many, many sticks with which to beat them with but I think we mostly agree their training facilities are light years (pardon the pun) ahead of ours and I do think it's really interesting they're utilising this technology to help them. Certainly from the segment on Click, it looked a good incredibly interesting. They interviewed Luke O'Nien and Allison Cowling, both were very positive about how it's used. Again, not meaning to sound harsh, but if, as a League One side, Sunderland can have this then that might suggest it isn't all that expensive in the grand scheme of things.
Perhaps it could be something our owners or Eddie and his team would be interested in implementing.

Was looking through my collection of shirts the other day and that tailored by umbro England shirt really was class imo.
It's the red one I have, and whilst it is just a red shirt, it mixed the materials between the front panel and the arms etc.
Would've loved a shirt by them at that time. Think man city got one and their gear looked class also.
The 2010 England shirt was pretty much perfect.

It's a good looking kit, shame no long sleeve version but we've had so much worse.

He's been here five minutes and Dan Ashworth has gone from gardening leave to Operation Market Garden.

Yeah, even when I was at school (both pre and post 1992), I'd say it was around a two thirds / one third split, perhaps a wee bit more, still in Newcastle's favour though but there's still sizeable support in the area for Sunderland. Never had any problems with it as they're just fans of their club like we are.

Politely, Suarez can go to hell.

It'll always be Luis Suarez for me. The racist, cheating, biting scumbag. How Liverpool supported him with those t-shirts makes me hate them both even more, it'll never not wind me up.

It's really tiring how people go on like we were the only club to sign a player in January. All other clubs have the opportunity to do so and some even make use of it too. The system has been in place for twenty years and it wasn't created especially for us.
In today's market, £90 million on four permanent first team players (plus a loan) isn't a great deal of money, doesn't even add up to a Jack Grealish.
Everton spent as much as what it takes to buy the entire Newcastle United football club company one and a half times and they celebrate that outlay not getting relegated as if it's them winning the quadruple.
In summary: Eddie Howe is amazing, he's perfect for us and I love him.
