Great article about the Brazil team from 82 could there have been a better team never to win it. The 3-2 against Italy is one of the first games I remember watching on tv, Rossi became the face of that World Cup but that Brazil team with Zico, Falcao, Junior and Socrates was something else.
Worst week of football ever... Brazil knocked out and Keegan missing a last minute header for England in their game.
As a kid I think it was the first time football broke my heart!

We've got Bruno in the middle,
He's never gonna take a Pen again.
Canny in attack,
Fantastic at the back,
But thank God Pope saved the day!

Europa League is looking tasty with Ajax, Barca and Juventus dropping in

As soon as a keeper comes out of the box they should go by the same rules as an outfield player... And in my eyes it's just a coming together

I can't believe some of the hate Eddie is getting for these comments. The pro-Liverpool media machine is in overdrive right now.
What have I missed?

So injured before we signed him, then injured whilst at Sweden but we are still talking about our physio's or training being the issue?
Maybe it's like Wilson, where once a hamstring goes it's the balance of resting or risking it will pop again if not fully healed.
Personally I reckon if we were in a relgation battle or had Bruce in charge we would be pushing the players to play asap. I mean if you look at Wilson he was out to three times in 20/21 as we needed him back the second he could walk!

It is like he goes out of his way to find a formation or way of playing that is different to how the players play for their clubs.
Walker CB, Saka LWB, god we even have the most natural goal scorer of a generation and he has to drop deep as no one will pass the bloody ball to him
-
Would it have been possible to play the ball from side to side say 20, 30 yards deeper and allow the forward players more space to run into or the midfielders to break the lines.
We pushed to high up and fell into their trap every attack and ended up trying to break down a ten man defence at the edge of their box.
Just seems we needed someone on the pitch to stop and reset the way we were playing... Whereas everyone was looking for Trippier to be our saviour.
The poor bloke had hard enough challenge getting Miggy out of the way before he could cross the ball!

We're having a fair few hamstring injuries like. That's Shelvey, Wilson, Bruno, and ASM now I think.
Over reliance on first eleven... No time to rest them without impacting the actual game but then lose them for 3 or 4 weeks.

So what are you saying? We are dependent on the narcissistic sociopath whis just had his hair cut?
I love Eddie Howe very to be honest were art much better than we've been for years. Bang average?
SBR did a lot better with a lot less talent. Just sayin.
This has to be the post of the year!
Or at least the best Wind up haha

How so ? We get the ball wide to them and they either cut back and lay it off, or fail to take a man on and lose the ball, or cross it out or play. Don’t think it matters what side they are on, they just aren’t good enough.
Maxi and Miggy both have to cut back to cross on their strong foot.
I remember Maxi crossing for Wilson from the right last season to set up goals.
And I'm sure Miggy must be able to get one good cross in from the left!

Probably because with the quality of our wingers, it really wouldn’t make a difference.
Think it would for our centre forwards

To be fair under Howe we play with more possession and typically work harder then the opposition.
However if you look closer at the players, we are not a squad full of natural goal scorers outside of Wilson and hopefully Isak.
So we have to hope for pens, free kicks or balls bouncing in of players knees.
Fingers crossed we get a bit of luck on injuries before the winter transfer window can kick us on.
-
The whole wing play frustrates me and I can't understand why we don't swap him, Fraser or even Maxi mid game when things are going wrong.
Surely the likes of Wood and Isak would have more chances created if Miggy just had to concentrate on running and crossing with his left foot?

No wonder he was distracted in the cup final... Poor lad would have been up all night looking for his next worldie !

If we can include disallowed goals...
Rob Lee against Brentford? from inside his own half..
Sure it was because someone was offside!

John Dahl Thomason at home to Sheff Wed on his debut, was on fire pre season and looked like the real deal. Clean through fluffed it and never the same player again. Much more suited to being a number 10 though and club fucked up selling Ferdinand in pre season. What might have been with this guy.
I mentioned that one to my two sons on Saturday after Isak's missed chance.
Every new striker has a John Dahl moment when they break from half way.
Andreas Anderson fluffed his.
Bellamy missed a few but got better.
Miggy missed a few and never made those runs again.
I'm sure Isak will be fine but my heart did sink!

I don’t want to tell them how to do their jobs, but a Wilson flag/banner would be great!
Yeah but you know the Wilson flag poles would snap half way through the display...
