Because the person / company in the wrong doesn't learn anything. We entered into a partnership with them, which suggests somewhat of a two-way street. Why can't we work with them to help them be better? Surely that's the best possible outcome here.

Noon are 50 per cent owned by the entity that owns 75 per cent of us.

Do we need someone at PIF to organise a meeting with themselves and explain why mistreatment of migrant workers is bad?

  2. Football fans are fucking odd. Imagine breaking your back to minimise the misbehaviour of our fucking sleeve sponsor

It was bad enough when we had people leaping to the defence of the Saudis, but let’s not completely debase ourselves by saying it’s fine for Noon to be cunts because Amazon are a bit shit too.

So they were waiting for kit sales to be able to pitch how many people will be wearing the clobber for a potential training kit sponsor?

Would make sense. Probably get more money now than we would have 2 days ago.

    It definitely strengthens our hand.

Always get the impression that we could sell a glittered turd if it had an NUFC crest on it, but Castore’s supply issues likely left us with a quite a holey case. Completely different set of circumstances now with Adidas.

Colin Walton the Albanian looking piss stained tracky bottom wearing chess master from Peterlee.

Dion J Pilkington the Canadian Newcastle fan who posted shite and was hunted down on the internet and ripped to shreds.

Young t0m who basically grew up on Skunkers.

Elswick Mag who loved himself so much he'd have shagged himself if his dick was big enough.

The formentioned mackem John Ramsey who posted greyhound racing tips that often came in.

Vinny V the young fat lad who would wind up Walter the mackem with reagrds to meet ups for a fight.

Broonee the old bloke with the paedo haircut.

Christ the list of characters on there was endless.

Elswick repeatedly sorted me out with away derby tickets, so I’ll not have a bad word said.

Is anybody aware that Pie from Skunkers is now an international best selling author, who holidays with Murr from Impractical Jokers 🤣

    Funny old world.

Not bad for someone barely scraping 4’2”.

I would love to go back and read Skunker’s gerld section. Home to some absolutely world class meltdowns. In its heyday that place was brilliant.

Alas, it’s long since gone to the big server in the sky.

I don't think peak Skunkers will ever be beaten. Good mix of mags and mackems, plenty of piss taking on a diverse range of subjects, think there were a few drinks meet ups as well but I never got to any of them. Must have died about five years ago now. Gone but never forgotten.

Mackems fall through the divisions killed off Skunkers for good. The place was at its best when you had a steady stream of fuckwits popping over from SMB who weren’t in on the joke.

Met a few people from Skunkers over the years. All disappointing normal.

The journo who reported the crack about Man City yesterday has just been on TalkSport. He said he knows who the other club backing City are but couldn’t say who. A few minutes later he’s name dropping how, if the rules around fair value sponsorship changes, then City and NUFC can get huge investment from our owners.

Then he started to discuss how when the rules were brought in, City voted against them and we abstained, no other clubs mentioned.

    Pretty much confirms it’s us.

    It’s either us or Chelsea.

I don’t disagree. It’s just a mess. If the Saudis had bought a different club not one single person on here would be celebrating this. It’s just going to make the gap all the way down the pyramid massive. I hate the way the premier league is starting to become a jump too far for most championship clubs

The most sustainable and effective way to address the gap is ensuring better distribution of money down the pyramid (something the PL are currently implacably opposed to). PSR doesn’t address the gap.

I agree. While this will be good for Newcastle I think it’s potentially really bad for the game.

The rules as they currently stand are just the flip side of the same coin. The only choice is whether there’s an artificial financial disparity created by PSR, or whether there’s a real one by having the richest owners be able to spend the most.

It is absolutely shit, don’t get me wrong. But there’s basically little difference.

  10. It would be grimly amusing if rules that were introduced in haste to stifle our ability to grow were so flawed that they ultimately resulted in the PL having to settle with Man City.

Ultimately the entire thing stinks to high heaven. FFP/PSR has been a grift since the moment the ESL lot realised they could use it to fuck the rest of the league. City broke the rules to gain a competitive advantage.

Fuck them all (but I would very much like an outcome that best suits us).

  11. Intensely relaxed about this. Of the three clubs in for him we’re head and shoulders above in terms of what we can offer from a career progression prospective. If he decides to go elsewhere it would say a lot about his character, and suggest he’s probably not a massive loss.

All the keeper fixation just confuses me. We have one of the best shot stoppers in the world back healthy, and we want to expend a sizable portion of our budget on his backup? We were bleeding goals long before Dubs was in with a nearing relegation-form back line, and for about half the season the attack looked nearing Championship levels.

You’ll have to show your workings, because every available stat suggests you’re talking shite.

3m is really not worth it; sell a couple of the shits who played today and get it.

£3m for a couple of exhibition games is worth it.

Hopefully the club have learned something from this and won't arrange another post season friendly like this in future, the spurs game I can sort of understand since it drew some neutral interest, even if the timing was still shite; this game was just a pointless exercise that has had absolutely no benefits whatsoever, in fact it can only really reflect badly on us.

No benefit, apart from the £3m we got?
