I think he probably would. He wasn't exactly inundated with better offers.

The Celtic job he turned down was better than managing us under Ashley imo.

  2. Howe wouldn't have came here under Ashley in a million years.

Howe wouldn't be nowhere near my first choice and his reign at Bournemouth didn't end the best but I feel he has potential as a manager and would do better than people think.

I think it was great we went for Emery but I'm not surprised he turned it down considering where we currently are in the league and his current team are in the Champions League.

Hopefully if Howe does come in, we can get a good DOF in to make the signings (Howe's weak point) and get a good defensive coach in too.

  3. I think Potter would come here. He is greatly over acheiving at Brighton and although we are in a bad position now, we have infinity more future potential, plus we could pay him loads more money.

  4. Was stupid from whoever leaked this but it seems like Emery is trying to save face after getting caught with his pants down.

Hopefully this can be sorted out but if he isn't sure about it they need to move onto someone else hopefully of the same standard.

If Howe's wanting a South coast role, he can go to Brighton and we can have Potter :)

He may be a good coach, but he’s shown fuck all here that he is a good coach, even under a manager who is one of the worst we’ve had. He can fuck off too!

Totally agree, can't think of one player who has improved since we hired him.

Simon Jordan suggesting he isn't the right fit because he doesn't have the relegation battle experience

Must be class being a professional WUM

I think it would be impossible to get tired of punching his face.

  7. Wow, this will be an amazing appointment and I feel the best realistic manager we could have appointed.

Feels so strange being happy with our club again.

Pissing off the xenophobic pundits is an added bonus.

Him involved with England is starting to make so much more sense now.

From formation, to being defensively minded and not using best players...

That's what I was thinking, I wouldn't want Southgate anywhere near our club either.

Nowhere near, but then look at the amount of time they had off under Bruce

This might surprise you but we’re waaaay below Brentford.

Yet we have the better players.

I think we all get too distracted by the takeover. The reality is that we have a team of about 90% championship players and 10% prem players, we expect them to stack up against the top team in the prem. And to boot they have lacked any decent strategy/coaching for 2.5 years. Chelsea are playing champions league football and we are playing champions(hip)...

I didnt expect anything less than a loss yesterday.

The players actually surprised me by reaching 70 mins before caving in.

Our strongest team on paper is as good, if not better than Brighton's and look at where they are in the league.

A decent manager could get our strongest 11 playing well. Rafa did with a worse team.

You do realise that the manager has people around him but makes the final decision. The players look clueless and unfit because of one person and one person only and we all knew it was going to happen.

If you watched that and thought those tactics were the same under Bruce then you’re insane

Please explain how the tactics were different?

Same players, same formation, ultra defensive, no attacking outlet, hoof ball and to top it off brings on Shelvey just like Bruce did against Spurs.

It's amazing how all of our relegation rivals every year seem to pick up the odd win against the top teams but we just seem to expect and accept defeat.

We would have got beat regardless man.

I wonder if the Crystal Palace fans felt that way before their game today or the Brighton ones.

  13. For the people sticking up for Jones, don't you think it's worrying that after all his time with us, he still thinks Clarke and Krafth should be playing ahead of Schar and Fernandez? Thinks it's a good idea to play Ritchie at LWB. Thinks Maximum can play well through the middle, thinks it's a good idea to bring Shelvey on etc.

We were blaming Bruce and not Jones for our tactics but since Bruce has gone, we are playing the same players with the same tactics, so it's obvious he had a lot more input than we believed under Bruce.

    What?

Did you actually watch the game? We were dreadful. Couldn't string three passes together all game. Maximin has always been awful through the middle so why play him there? Why is Clarke in there ahead of Schar and Fernandez.

It's pretty obvious that Jones is to blame as well as Bruce for our performances this season.
