In that case how was Ashley able to sell some of the land around the stadium?

Am I right that money spent building a new stadium won't impact FFP? What about a)Selling St James Park b)Building apartments on the St James Park site and selling/renting them out. Can all the money made from selling/redeveloping St James Park be used to fund transfers etc without affecting FFP? It would make a huge difference to the finances going forward if that was the case.

I think this summer will be evolution not revolution. The worst 5 - 7 players will be replaced. The rest will stay. It's not just about recruiting a top 4 squad as fast as possible, its about creating a long term culture and mentality. I don't think the club even need to go that large on transfer fees this summer apart from Henderson. There's so many good players available for free that can establish the club in the top 10 and push for Europe. If the club could bring in players like Origi, Erikson, Lindgard and Tarkowski for free the FFP limit can stay high for the 2023/4 season.
