  1. There’s a good chance that the lad’s mind will not be 100% focussed on the match tbf.
  2. I know there isn’t - but the point is that you don’t bet on outcomes because it opens up the potentiality of corrupt practice. Which is why it doesn’t matter if you’ve bet on your team or the opposition. Calciopoli was a bit more recent, it’s just that the Milan - Brescia game is a great singular example.
  3. ‘Tonali starts Satder. I fart in your general direction’
  4. Is Joe Willock fit again yet? That’ll take the edge off
  5. Agreed it is a leap, but again he has opened up the possibility of this occurring. Which is why betting on football matches is banned for professional players. I’d point to Milan - Brescia in the 92/93 season as an example of this.
  6. Agreed, though it is damaging to our season and could potentially cost the club a lot more than the equivalent of one fifth of that transfer fee.
  7. It isn’t. See my post above.
  8. I know where you’re coming from - but I was relating it directly to the rest of the post; it is just as bad if you know the opposition will lose. And Milan do have extensive previous in that regard - I can think of three separate occasions in the past when they’ve been done for it.
  9. A player betting on the team he plays for winning is no better than betting on them to lose - again, he opens himself to questions of insider knowledge. What if members of the opposition had agreed to throw the game? He would be aware of this. Again, it isn’t that this has happened - it is that the player opens themselves up to the being a potential outcome. It is absolutely fucking moronic.
  10. I wish Jeff Hendrick had bet on our games
  11. If the stories are true, looks just as likely that Fagioli squealed on his mates once he was caught
  12. Betting advertising should be banned.
  13. In my profession, allowing yourself to be in a position where your professional position ethics could be questioned is the same as having questionable ethics. He’s gambling on a sport where he could be privy to insider knowledge - and if he bets on his own club, then it is insider knowledge. Worse, he could be involved in match-fixing. I’m aware that he hasn’t been accused of that, but he is open to a potential accusation. The rules aren’t puritanical, they’re perfectly sensible. Again, it’s hardly a big ask - don’t bet on football. Most of us can live our entire lives not doing this.
  14. Not sure if it is in Tonali’s, but I remember Joey Barton whining that Ashley tried to get him to agree to a reduced contract while he behind bars. Joey Barton - a man so lacking in self-awareness that he can actually make me sympathise with Mike Ashley.
  15. It’s hardly a massive curb on their human rights to expect the dozy fuckers not to bet on a sport in which they are a professional. Leaving yourself open to allegations of corrupt practice isn’t much better than actual corruption. It brings the profession into disrepute
  16. Looks like Howe is going to get a lengthy pre-season to get Tonali’s fitness levels to Howe-ball levels.
  17. Fagioli is a right grass. Let’s gan and egg his hoose
  18. That also doesn’t sound like a ringing endorsement of wor Sandro
  19. AC Milan’s DoF, after the transfer ..,
  20. True enough, though the clubs also have much longer tentacles and far more money to spend on them. It’ll come out in the wash soon enough. We’ve still no idea what the lad is actually meant to have done - the story changes daily.
  21. Haha aye, true enough. The days of Kevin Keegan prowling bookies looking for Keith Gillespie may be a thing of the past
  22. If Brian Clough and Peter Taylor could figure this out in the 1970s I’m sure it’s not beyond the wit of man to work it out today. Usually other players, coaches, club employees etc.
  23. It is possible to find out if a player is partial to a bet without hacking their phone
  24. I still find it hard to comment - and wouldn’t allow the Italian press to make my mind up. If he’s bet on his own team’s games, he’s a fucking idiot, and will be lucky to escape with a one year ban. The guilty in the Totonero scandal got much longer (they were done as the betting also involved match fixing, but a day ago apparently he was just playing blackjack). Also whoever in the scouting team who did the character assessment has dropped a massive bollock if this proves true.
