Just my theory, but loads of them wouldn’t have continued to go when it was mostly on the day tickets prior to ‘92/93-ish. They’d have drifted away, or would have been in the West Stand seats for the odd game. I genuinely think there are a significant portion of them who don’t actually like going.

Yep, there is usually significant changes to the attendees. I used to sit with two mates, but we recognised / would crack on with loads around us. We didn’t recognise anyone at that game - I still remember how oddly disconcerting that was

Yep. The PSV, Dynamo Kiev and Feyenoord home games in particular stand out as being as flat as a witch’s tit. Feyenoord was the nadir for me - 10k empty seats and you could hear a pin drop.

Gordon has scored more league goals in fewer league games than ASM this season. Despite Gordon playing in possibly the world’s highest ranked league, and ASM playing in a glorified pub league. Honestly, those who go on like this every time we lose need to put their dummies back in.

It also stops teams qualifying by hammering a shit team 8-0 in the final match. Head-to-head is a much fairer system for me

Yeah, I completely agree - it was one of those nights. Referee wasn’t the reason we lost - but it was bloody frustrating all the same

First two games showed European refereeing at its best - that was it at its worst. Blind to obvious fouls, fussy over non-incidents, and bizarrely involved in as much time wasting as any opposing team causing the game to lose momentum.
