Garang Kuol: Joins Sparta Prague in permanent deal (Official)
TheBrownBottle replied to Johnny's topic in Football
KUUUUUUU-OL KU-OL KU-OL KU-OL KU-OL KU-OL KU-OL I SAY Not sure if we’re allowed Glitter songs to be used as chants any more though - I hear he’s a bit Adam Johnson -
Messi is the greatest player of all time, and while he clearly isn’t the same player as he was in his prime (who is?), he’s still one of the world’s best footballers. Di Maria and Otamendi are past it for me though. The Argentinians missing those sitters is part of the issue - a good side doesn’t give them those chances.
-
I’d like to see a new name on the trophy. The Dutch would be the obvious one, but it would be great to see an Asian or African team do it - not sure if Japan can repeat the group games four more times, but I’d love it if they did. I think they’ll beat Croatia anyway
-
Yep, they look utter cack to me. Any decent side beats this lot
-
Yes, they’re a sprightly bunch. Made hard work of Australia, lost to KSA, every one of their best players the wrong side of 30 The Dutch will beat these comfortably
-
That was the chance Garang
-
Gutierrez used to shower with him. Not sure if touching was involved though.
-
Most of them are over the hill - they were top players years ago. Martinez is proof of just how far Serie A has fallen
-
This Argentina side feels like Brazil ‘14 - hyped before tournament but they’ll get leathered off the first good side they play. And they’re not through this yet
-
Unlucky lad - so close
-
Haha get in. Argentina playing somnambulist football and get a wake up
-
More magical goalkeeping
-
Martinez is a fucking terrible keeper mind. Australia have nearly caught him a few times with a press.
-
Yeah, they’ll just stroll the ball around and try and pick out the odd opening now.
-
Aye, you might well be right there I’ll echo what others have said though - any new ground would need to be a city centre (or as close to it as possible) stadium.
-
He’s probably the greatest ever for me - my mind flicks between him and Maradona whenever that comes up.
-
Looks like it’s just two of us. Thought that was just poor goalkeeping.
-
Yep, like I said it’s going to play out like a warm up. Argentina will view this as a chance to play at minimal effort, and Australia will be busy at the back but won’t maintain a high press. The SBS commentary over here in Australia makes it even worse. Craig Foster is a terrible mixture of platitudes and pretentiousness.
-
It would be perfectly feasible to build a new stadium for £300-400m - especially at a site like that of the current arena You don’t need to match the Spurs ground spec, and you’re not building in a confined working environment in London
-
Who said a new ground costs $1bn? Wembley and Spurs new ground are not the benchmark Time for me to give up the day job as a civils estimator then
-
No danger of that here
-
This is going to play out like a warm up game I’m afraid, which will suit this ancient Argentina side.
-
Expanding the current stadium is liable to cost the same as a brand new one. It’s one or the other.
