I would be interested to see who he would have kept had positions been reversed by the way. Moyes left after relegation Grayson won 3 games out of 18 in the new Championship season Coleman was let go after relegation again where he won 5 games in 29 Ross was probably the best we had in L1 until Neil but ultimately didn't get promoted in two seasons and lost both games he had at Wembley Johnson played canny football but we were never going up with him which coincided with a 6-0 drubbing off Bolton in League One and left us well outside any chance of automatics, Neil came in and got us up so the decision to get rid was justified by KLD. Neil left on his own accord Not sure how that is hounding managers out

Oh and who's faults that then, the tea ladies? As for the managers, take a look at the return on the managers results and you will see exactly why they were sacked. You are talking complete bollocks.

Ah, RTG, The voice of reason for all of Sunderland. It's full of absolute knackers that probably don't even go to the games man.
-
We only now have two loanees and one hardly plays by the way.. We have a blueprint of signing younger players (I think there's a cap of signing anyone over 25) by purchasing them from clubs where they are finding it difficult for regular first team game time. I guess the hope then is we develop them to be able to sell them on for big fees which we can then reinvest and continue to build the club. It will take a while but I have no doubt we have already acquired some players who will go for big money in the next 3-5 years.

What an absolute load of rubbish man. Ellis Short got bored of the club and admitted defeat in looking to spend his way to success. He lost complete control and shifted all footballing and financial decisions to a variety of different chief executives to the point he hadn't even spoke to Chris Coleman when he was appointed manager or throughout his entire tenure. I think most Sunderland fans understand Short had the best intentions of the club from the off but it turned sour as he gave up all interest. Your last paragraph is utter garbage by the way and an assumption that gets tossed around by numerous Newcastle fans about previous managers.
-
It's not about how much you spend but how you spend it though isn't it? Alongside creating saleable assets that you can then sell on to reinvest, the likes of Brighton and Brentford are examples.
-
He wrote money off because he would never have had a buyer to purchase the club for the price it was 'valued' at, He then 'sold' the club to two blokes who used the clubs own parachute money for the purchase, So aye, he left the club absolutely up shit creek. Are you suggesting he left the club in remotely a good place here?
-
We were only a steady PL club in league status alone, haemorrhaging money, huge debt, little to no re-sale value in any of the squad, large contracts on players worth nowhere near the wages they were being paid. Behind the scenes was a shambles, Short left the club to rot which is why we then fell down the leagues and out of the Championship. It was a ticking time bomb which eventually exploded, We are in a far better position now than we were then.
-
Going nowhere , best placed the club has been for about 10 years.

You think what you want fella, You seem very sensitive about it.
-
I mean, I did sign up and post months ago, but whatever suits your agenda..
-
Why do you have such a chip on your shoulder?
-
I have never said otherwise.

What I would say is that I wouldn't turn my back on Sunderland if they has KSA / State ownership but I wouldn't be overly proud about it.

You do realise that's how the loan market has always worked? FWIW we loaned Clarke in League One who was never a league one player and then made him permanent in the Championship, It was astute business in hindsight. We wouldn't ever get Diallo permanently, but if we go up it allows us to 'shop' in a better market than a Championship one. We would also possibly have the opportunity to loan Diallo again who would be playing at a higher level which would suit Man United if they wanted him to get further experience. You can slag Sunderland off for a lot of things but the recruitment in the last 18 months has been fantastic with a clear blueprint of how the club will look to operate moving forward.
-
That's simply not true, Diallo is brilliant and he's one of the loanees but not sure which other loanees you are referring to.

Forums generally bring out the absolute worst of a fanbase, I would say 50% of the SMB are complete knackers who don't represent the fanbase in the slightest. The same on here mind, I have seen some outrageously embarrassing posts about Sunderland from Newcastle fans. Some of my best mates are Mags, One side of my family are Newcastle season ticket holders.
-
A good season would probably be midtable but the league is so tight it makes you believe you can possibly squeeze a play-off spot. I think the new recruitment team and model would stick to what has proved so successful over the last 18 months and wouldn't jump to spending tons of money in fees and wages on players should we go back up. It would more than likely result is an immediate relegation but we would pocket the parachute payments to continue to grow other areas of the club which should benefit us in the long run. The only other possible outcome if we went up is further investment from a Dreyfus family member or associate if they wanted to give the league a go by staying up.

It has absolutely nothing to do with the weekends results, hence why I never mentioned anything to do with them directly. If that's what you want to believe though, that's your choice.
-
To be fair I tried that last time and you end up getting nowt but shite.
-
Hope he doesn't give up his day job.
-
I mean, that is absolutely the opposite of a 'fact' but hey ho..

It’s probably why no Sunderland fan sticks around on here to have a reasoned debate. Seems its impossible without people jumping down your throat despite being honest and realistic. I will let you’s get on with it.
