  1. for fucks sake, don't apply logic what we want to hear is move leezers terrace to the moon and build a new stadium in the mariana trench inform beyonce + NFL cunts
  2. I'm sure there will be eventually as there's probably a lot we still don't know. The most tragic era probably was ww1 as newcastle had a lot of players killed in france. When you think at the time Newcastle were the dominant force then (league titles and regular FA cup appearances) and probably like most teams had to start from scratch after the war.
  3. aye its a good read. Pioneers of the North is also excellent
  4. over 12 years on and a great time to revive an old thread! It looks like development work is going on on the site of Newcastle East End's old ground at Heaton Railway junction off chillingham road, most likely new houses. Seems sad that this area has been forgotten, especially when you consider that this ground played a huge part in the formation of the club, without this venue, east end would have likely folded like West End (it was looked on as superior to St James' Park in terms of facilities, but ultimately not location) It's a pity the land wasn't obtained by the club as it would have made a great training ground for newcastle, especially when you add his historical significance of the site.

  6. For me Callum Wilson HAS to start. he was our top scorer last season and is still vastly underrated. I keep hearing 'isak is wasted out wide'. He's also wasted up front if we can't utilise him. Longstaff has to come back to break up that static midfield. Murphy worth a start on the right, I thought he earned his place last season
  7. absolutely correct. The midfield of bruno, longstaff and willock was far more balanced. Willock almost like a support striker, longstaff the engine and bruno would sit and own the centre of the pitch. the 3 at the moment are not sure what their roles are. its the same with the front 3, gordon, isak and miggy, none of them link up well and all look like square pegs in round holes
  8. personally id like to see him in with longstaff like last season. Joelinton starting to look like a steve bruce hoofer again playing in midfield which suggests his best position is wide left of front 3....where isak played, where maxi used to play, where gordon plays and where barnes comes on to play. Nicely stocked with LWFs but no midfielder with legs or shooting ability
  9. interestingly man city have ditched the 4-3-3 and now play with 2 DMs in a 4-2-3-1. I think thats the only way for bruno and tonali to play together to benefit the team. maybe even isak could play in the middle of the 3 behind wilson. However what worries me is that we are moving away from what was successful last season with just a few changes which has had an adverse effect on (not just the last 3 results) but the way we play.
  10. it's easy to imagine the facade of leazes terrace integrated into a stand, like something like the bill struth stand at Ibrox or something from craven cottage. the only shame is that the best side of leazes terrace faces toward st james's! Instead could you have a double tier with maybe a gap between the 2 tiers for sunlight? A complete rebuild of the lower tier extending slightly further back (unfortunately taking St james terrace) and the road behind the east stand now running underneath the new east stand maybe
  11. I don't think it would work as there's not a lot of room around the pitch, if you go down you also need to go forwards toward the pitch, that's why it works with stadia with running tracks so you can eat up that space. The only think you could have is a trench like what they had at joker park and introduce it as a standing area (like going back to a paddock) but then that's probably going to look a bit shit.
