Hahahahahahahah...I love British humor. Norman was certainly a hooligan in his 20s. Milan fans age better, though...

Of course, I meant that those statistics often serve as a general idea but they shouldn't be taken as absolute truths. Maldini once made a beautiful tackle on Ronaldo (the Brazilian) and at the end of the match the journalists complimented him on that tackle.... he replied that if you have to tackle it means you've done something wrong before. Class.

What do you think about Estupinan? He hasn't played very well so far.
-
Be aware that the extremely high pass completion percentage is distorted by the fact that Milan built his game from the back, often with very simple horizontal passes. He certainly has good feet, but hes not the Rodri of the defense.
-
Yes, not the best option... we're afraid to spend money on very young talents like Leoni or Comuzzo. In Spain and England this doesn't happen, if someone is 18 and is good he plays as a starter...in our country only the smaller teams do this.

It's something that goes beyond the stadiums... You're certainly familiar with the Palio or the Calcio Storico, but there are dozens of similar events in Italy, especially in the summer. The Palio di Siena has been going on for 800 years and is still a matter of life and death for the Sienese today. The Calcio Storico Fiorentino is another good example of how traditions can be centuries old without losing their passion. People certainly don't stab each other like in football, but seeing an 80-year-old Sienese cry like a child because he won or lost the Palio affects me, even though I'm Italian.

Yes, for me, Botman was (and is) better in every way. Unfortunately for you, the Dutchman is also superior at getting injured; I understand why you needed a CB (or maybe two). However, the Premier League is a mystery; Kerkez was a decent player (nothing more)in Milan's youth system, and now it seems Liverpool have found their new Roberto Carlos... I remembered Kyle Walker as being great at City, but he came to us and became a ghost (ok, he's 35, but whatever). Anyway... it's no coincidence that Thiaw played very well with Pioli and now under Allegri (in these few games) and very poorly with Fonseca and Conceicao. Howe will be crucial for him.

You're absolutely right about that. Small teams die for 90 minutes rather than give up, and every match is tough, but the technical level is very low. The talented and combative Italian national team hasn't been seen in the last 20 years... winning the European Championship was just luck. Fan culture is the only thing we still have... and that (thank God) will never die because, for centuries, we have always fought each other even if we were 10 km apart..

The top four are untouchable.... Savicevic shouldn't even be in the top 20 in terms of performance but in terms of talent he was ahead of Kaka.

Serie A can still be fascinating but only a few matches and especially if you watch it live and not on TV. I've often seen foreigners at San Siro during a Milan-Inter game, and they're stunned by the atmosphere. The same for Roma-Lazio or Genoa-Sampdoria. I saw an Arsenal vs Tottenham, live, years ago and the atmosphere was disappointing.

Years ago, a fan survey was conducted on AC Milan's best players from the 1970s onwards: 1) Baresi 2) Maldini 3) Van Basten 4) Rivera 5) Savicevic If he had had the character of Boban or Zidane, he would have been ahead of Maldini in the ranking.Even though he played a lot of bad games, in the few good ones he played he showed extraordinary things.
-
True, in Croatia he is a God...at Milan he left good memories but nothing unforgettable.
-
Boban was a great man with enormous determination and the charisma of a leader... as a player he was overrated. The great regret of those years was Savicevic, who had everything to be a European Maradona... he threw his career away because he was a dickhead.

Until a year ago both clubs wanted to build their own stadiums in opposite parts of Milano; plans already existed. Now the clubs want to buy San Siro from the municipality and renovate it. In any case, San Siro is our home...we built it 100 years ago, they have nothing to do with it. They should build their own stadium...200 km from Milan.

Ahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.......
-
Is that the Newcastle accent ?
-
Yes, but it's not just that... In England, ALL the stadiums are always full. In the 80s and 90s, in Italy, people were killing each other, but the stadiums were always full... now violence is no longer a problem, but the stadiums are empty.

We have an excellent midfield: Fofana, Jashari, Ricci, and Modric (40 years old but still capable of being decisive) and an excellent goalkeeper. There are many doubts about defense and attack; we're in fourth place behind Inter-Napoli and maybe Juve. Ibrahimovic is an idiot as a manager... Allegri is a good coach, but his teams almost never play well.

Today, if I were a footballer, I'd want to play in the Premier League too. Serie A's allure ended 20 years ago.
-
Ahahahaha, c'mon was a joke. But he was the bookmaker of Tonali.
-
I've written a lot about him in the previous pages... a decent defender with excellent athleticism (very good in the air). Concentration in the match is not one of his qualities.
-
Timing isn't your strong point but you had it with Tonali.
